Vehicle Detail
I am not a dealer. I'm selling this privately. I intend to describe everything as honestly as I possibly can to you. Because I would expect the same from you. Loaded 2003 Corolla Sport coupe 5 Speed Manual with Power Steering, Power Windows, Keyless Entry & Alarm, Dual Airbags, Aeroskirts, Rear Spoiler, Power Mirrors, Fog Lamps, A/C, Power Locks, Cruise Control & the Upgraded Factory 6 Speaker AM/FM CD Stereo. I am the sole owner & have never smoked. The ashtray served as my spare change dish. I also hold the title free and clear. The car was bank financed and paid off years ago. I had to pay extra and wait almost a month for the original delivery in '03 because it was difficult to find a manual 5 speed S coupe. When I special ordered the car directly from Toyota I was told there were only 10 manuals available in the entire east coast (see attached picture of the original email from my dealership). It may even be rare. I'm not saying it is but I honestly don't know. Knock yourself out trying to find that information on your own. The 1.8L engine is very reliable and awesome on fuel. You can expect over 35mpg on the highway easily. This car is truly a gas sipper that does not sacrifice style. Or maybe swap the efficient 1.8L engine for something bigger? It's got the stick transmission ready to go. It's also very easy & affordable to find upgrade kits & ideas for this Corolla platform. The body design lasted for over 10 years of production (which is unheard of in the modern car world). My personal customization of this vehicle starts and ends with the gear shift knob. Black Beauty was my daily driver and I have raised a small family in it. Many many highway miles on this car. We road tripped from Jersey to the Florida Keys and back for vacations more than a few times. Ohio, Maine, Mass, Va, etc. Anywhere and everywhere. This was our main transportation for years. Also no hurricane Sandy damage guaranteed. In fact, I slept in this car for one of those crazy nights. It was a savior. Mechanical- This car has always been dealer maintained here locally at Lawrence Toyota in Lawrenceville, NJ. I have included all of the maintenance records fresh off the dealership printer today (see pics). I admit I am not much of a mechanic guy but I am smart enough to know where the best trained ones are employed. Including a tune up & brake service done today (2/19/13), here is quick list of significant work completed at the dealership: -3/04 5,000 mile scheduled service -8/06 30,000 mile scheduled service -11/07 60,000 mile scheduled service -1/08 New catalytic converter -3/09 90,000 mile scheduled service -12/09 New main seal -3/11 120,000 mile scheduled service -3/12 New clutch & fan belt -8/12 New throttle body -2/13 $525 in service today -New front brakes and brake calipers, mechanic inspection, oil change & tire rotation. All scheduled maintenance and major services were performed on time at Lawrence Toyota in Lawrenceville, NJ. Feel free to call them & verify anything. 609-883-4200. The CarFax I included for free (see pics) shows the high level of care I have given this vehicle. All work done to this car was done at the dealership except regular oil changes, tire purchases & tire rotations. (I bought brakes one time at Meineke but regretted it & learned my lesson). I have a lot of records but I do not have every single Jiffy Lube oil change receipt but please trust me when I tell you: This car never went 4,000 miles without an oil change somewhere. Ever. Along with the extensive dealer service records, I will also include all the paperwork from my original purchase. Window sticker, owners manual, spare keys & alarm, options pamphlets etc. Exterior- The car has been garage kept for approximately half of it's life (approx '03-'07) but normal wear is everywhere. Very minor scratches are here and there. Nothing unusual for a 10 yr old car but I've honestly tried to show as many of the minor body scratches as possible in the pictures. There is one very small pushed in area on the vertical rear trunk panel. Just left of the license plate area where I overtightened a bike rack. It's very very hard to notice but please check the pictures. I'm very sure it's easily correctable if you really wanted to do it. There is also one small door ding smack in the middle of the gas cap panel. Again, it's barely noticeable. I would say this is a lucky spot to get dinged since replacing just the cap is pretty cheap & easy if dings bother you. There is zero rust on this car. I personally believe in always getting the "full wash" at the local car wash. Washing the undercarriage is really important. Would you take a shower without also washing your undersides? Eww. No. This car has never been in any accident. But my full CarFax report shows an "accident" in December of 2003. I was sideswiped by a hit & run driver while the car was parked overnight. Very little damage was done. Just a 10 inch long scrape only along the drivers door and I lost the drivers side mirror too. Everything was replaced correctly with factory replacement mirror and professional paint touch up job. You cannot even tell it ever happened and it in no way compromised the car structure. It was barely enough damage to file an insurance claim but honestly I didn't have the instant $1,100 it required to repair it myself. I also have all of that insurance claim paperwork with full descriptions & pictures from that claim for you. You will see the before and after. It was not a big deal at all. This car was at the dealership service center one final time today & I dropped $520 on a tune up & evaluation, oil change, tire rotation, new brake pads and calipers for both front wheels (see pics for today's invoice). Interior- The small digital clock in the center dash area doesn't work. It went blank about 6 months ago. I don't know the cause and it has never bothered me so I have not pursued the repair. One very small rip in rear seat fabric. About 2 inches long. The passenger rear door handle has lost the silver overpaint. My kid peeled it off for fun. I'm sure a replacement handle is pretty affordable. These are minor body issues but I feel the need to point them out to you. All these minor issues can be fixed pretty cheaply. Again, if they really bother you. I welcome you to come test drive it or bring a mechanic for inspection before auction end. I am also reachable by email and am glad to promptly answer any of your questions. Please remember this is a used car being sold AS IS and by bidding you are committing to purchasing this vehicle. I'm located in Hamilton Square NJ 08619. Very easy to get to from anywhere. 30 seconds off of I-95. Route 1, NJ Turnpike, Route 295 & I 195 are all less than 10 mins away. I can also pick you up at a train station. It's a 1 hour train ride from either NYC or Philly. Amtrak service stops in Trenton (10 mins away). NJ Transit trains stop at Hamilton Station (30 seconds away) on the Northeast Corridor line. If you'd like to fly in, give me notice and I can probably arrange my schedule to pick you up. Both Newark & Philadelphia airports are equally 1 hour drive away. I will also offer to deliver this car for a non negotiable fee of $2.50/mile using the shortest route on Google maps. I'll figure out how to get back home. Sorry, I will not ship this vehicle. This is a high quality car that is built to last and I've taken very good care of it. I'm actually sad to see it go. It's super reliable & has never let me down. It was actually my second Corolla. We both know Toyota makes high quality cars. I've maintained this car well because I thought I would be driving it a looong time. The only reason it must go is because my growing family is forcing my upgrade to a bigger Camry. My loss is your gain. This car is currently listed in multiple places and I reserve the right to cancel this auction if my "Buy It Now" price of $6200 is legitimately offered elsewhere (Buy It Now price of $6200 is the same in all advertisements). There are no known problems with this car! It is is ready to serve. Bid with complete confidence. No reserve. It's gotta go. Good Luck!
