You are bidding on a 1997 Honda ST 1100 Sport Touring motorcycle. It has been in my family since 1999 and has only been lightly used since 2002 my brother bought it with about 10000 miles on it and proceeded to but another 8000 or so in mostly highway miles. It was in perfect running condition when it was last used 2 years ago but currently will run only reluctantly if at all. I changed out the gas so knowing this bike as I do believe that the carbs are gummed uo and will require cleaning before you can ride it. This is a common problem with this type of bike -if you don't run it at least once a month (preferably more) then the carbs get gummed up since there is no fuel petcock to turn off and drain the carbs (a design flaw in my opinion). So factor the cost/time of cleaning the carbs when you bid. You will also need to bring a trailer to take this away. Ok assuming you are a crafty motorcycle guy you know what a good bike the ST 1100 is and what great bikes Honda makes. It has all the awesome Honda built in to it and some great accessories for long distance riding. It comes equipped with the following: Heli bars (infinitely adjustable and $500 new) Givi Bag Maxia Top Box/Trunk (huge it'll hold 2 full face helmets and is about $325 new) Throttle Meister cruise control (extra handy and an excellent value at $135 new) Piaa Driving Lights (no idea about model but at least $300) So that's near enough a thousand bucks worth of accessories. But wait there's more! Also included is the Honda Service manual, Owner's manual, Rider Safety Manual, and Tool Kit (which appears to be complete. Condition: As mentioned before the bike doesn't run but does turn over (with it's brand new battery) and will start but not idle. I actually had it running for a little bit but accidently hit the kill and that was the last time I got it going. It is almost certainly in need of a carb cleaning and my work schedule does not allow for the kind of care this bike requires. The tires look ok but I would not ride them too far or fast with out a careful examination. Cosmetically pretty good but there are some scratches scuffs which are shown in the pictures but I will also detail here: 1) right side saddlebag about a 3 " scratch also some minor scratches; Right side case guard/stand off (the grey jobby at the bottom of the fairing) some scraping and rub marks; 3) a scuff/scratch/black mark on the gas cap door. There may be other smaller marks else where but those are the major items and they show up well in the pictures. The bike has not to my knowledge been dropped (in the sense that it went down at speed) but I know for a fact that it got knocked over once (pinning my wife -moral being understand how to apply a brake before jumping on a bike that is in neutral and standing on a slope; also ask BEFORE you get on the bike!) I have attempted to describe the bike as accurately as possible but please ask any questions if there is something that is not clear or I failed to address in this listing.
