This is a major head turner of a car - be prepared for strangers to stop their cars in the street to talk to you about it. Solid unibody construction. $$$ spent on it by knowledgeable mechanics in the last year to make it safe, including new brakes, new tires, repaired fuel gauge, new horn, new spark plugs, new battery, new muffler, clean carpet starts easy and runs really well, only a tiny bit of rust at the bottom of the door that I can see (see 3rd last photo). Currently getting it's transmission fixed, and then I think it will be ready for a road trip to Yosemite. The only thing you'll need training on is the automatic overdrive which can also be used manually - but my mechanic can show you. Engine is clean and basic. This car has the (in)famous Rambler love seats - http://media-cache-ec4.pinterest.com/originals/6f/b0/25/6fb02532aa72b1339d033cd95c5cce50.jpg - the front seats recline for when you're at the drive-in, and it was advertised as being able to sleep a family in the back (rear seats drop) and has a luggage rack on top. It's surprisingly easy to drive and park. But please note it's a 1959 car, there's no power steering etc. Registered in California on normal plates till June 2013. I am selling him (the cars name is Chester) because I have to return to Australia at short notice. Am really really REALLY SAD to part with him, I've really bonded with him. In fact if he doesn't sell I may ship him to Australia! Feb13 update: I just noticed the windscreen (new wiper blades) has a scratch on it - my mechanic said it can be easily fixed - but nonetheless I've taken $ off the price to compensate. Feb14 update: someone has asked for more photos - I will take more this weekend and upload them. The photos above are a year old - except the engine which was taken yesterday.
