1968 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE MATCHING NUMBERS L-79 4 SPEED BOTH TOPS 1 This silverstone '68 corvette L79, 327 350 horse is a great looking head turning 4 speed ready to go. I have both hard and soft top and the car runs and drives great. 2 THE BUILD DATE ON THE TRIM TAG IS E15 AND ALL THE NUMBERS MATCH AND THE TIME FRAME DOCUMENT THIS. I WILL SHOW PICTURES OF ALL THE NUMBERS THAT MATCH THE SUFFIX CODE AND THE CASTING DATE CODES AND NUMBERS ON BLOCK AND TRANS LATER IN THE LISTING. I HAVE THE WARRANTY BOOK AND IT HAS BEEN VALIDATED WITH THE PERFORATED STAMP FOR ALL WORK AND AND MILEAGE CHECK UPS. IT LOOKS TO BE REAL BUT THE PROTECT-O-PLATE IS GONE. I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF THESE BACK IN THE '70s I WAS A CHEVROLET PARTS MANAGER AND IT WAS COMMON TO REMOVE THE PLATE WHEN THEY WERE RESOLD AFTER TRADE IN. SOMETIMES WARRANTIES WERE CANCELED AND/OR THE 50,000 MILEAGE WAS UP ON THE DRIVE TRAIN PROTECTION. 3 I went to work at Tecota Chevrolet in 1970 when I returned home from Vietnam and later ;started farming. I am now retired and only buy cars I would want to buy for myself. I have 100% feed back and I will go into great detail in this ad and show the 90 plus pictures so you know what you are bidding on. I take my pictures in natural light, some in shaded areas and some in full sun. I also take some in flourescent lighting so you see the car in all light scenerios. This car was finished in 1990 and has not been driven very much since the RESTORATION. I have all of the receipts that show every little detail with the build. All of the guages work except the clock and it works only when it wants too. The speedometer and tach work. The face of the tach has some discoloration so I am including a tach face with the car. The dash, console and door panels are real nice and the car drives and shifts good and smooth as it should. I do have the red line tires that I would swap out if you would like. 9 THE PAINT AND COLOR IS HARD TO CATCH IN A PICTURE BECAUSE THE METALLIC DOES NOT SHOW UP GOOD. SILVERSTONE SILVER IS A GREAT COLOR AND IS THE CORRECT COLOR CODE 986. THE PAINT DOES SHOW SOME FLAWS DOWN LOW AND I WOULD GIVE IT AN 8.5 IT TURNS HEADS AND IS GREAT DRIVER THAT IS ALMOST 45 YEARS OLD AND WAS FINISHED IN 1990. 10 11 12 13 14 The hard top is nice but was not painted when the car was. I left it up for a few days after these pictures were taken and it looks great now with no wrinkles. 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 THE TIRES ARE NEW AND THE TRIM RINGS AND CENTERS LOOK NEW. THIS CAR DRIVES VERY GOOD AND HAS A NICE RIDE. 38 In this shot you can see the metallic much better. It is a very pretty color when the sun is on it. 39 40 LOOKS GREAT DOWN LOW AND THE UNDERCARRIAGE PICTURES ARE AT THE END OF THE LISTING. IT DOES HAVE HEADERS AND THEY ARE NOT FACTORY. 43 THIS GREAT RUNNING 350 HP HAS MORE POWER THAN MOST. I HAVE THE RECEIPTS FOR THE WORK DONE ON THE ENGINE . THE OIL PRESSURE IS GREAT AND THE CAR RUNS COOL. IT ALWAYS STARTS AND HAS A GREAT SOUND NOT TO LOUD BUT A GOOD SOUND THAT LETS YOU KNOW IT RUNS STRONG. THE WIRING IS NICE AND NEAT WITH NO WIRES HANGING DOWN OR OUT OF PLACE. THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS VERY NICE. 44 I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR ALOT AND IT IS VERY DEPENDABLE. IT STARTS IN THE COLDEST WEATHER AND THE AUTO CHOKE WORKS. I WOULD SAY NOT A DEAL BREAKER, BUT PRETTY GOOD FOR 45 YEARS. 78 79 80 81 THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK. IT MAY BE SOMETHING SMALL. 82 83 ALL OF THE INTERIOR IS IS VERY GOOD WITH NO TEARS OR RIPS. THE DOOR PANELS ARE VERY GOOD TOO. THE CARPET IS NICE AS WELL. 84 The jack and lug wrench are in their place and the spare is in the carrier. 85 86 87 88 89 90 91 92 93 94 THE INTEGRITY OF THE BOTTOM IS NICE AND YOU CAN TELL IT HAS ADVOIDED THE INCLEMEMENT WEATHER. IT SHOWS NO RUST IN THE AREA THAT SHOWS UP FIRST. THE FRAME IS RUST FREE AND NICE. I PERSONALLY SERVICED IT WHEN I GOT IT AND CHECKED ALL THE TIE RODS, DRAG LINKS AND BALLJOINTS. I GREASED IT AND IT DRIVES GREAT. THE DRIVETRAIN IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH NO STRANGE NOISES OF ANY KIND AND IT DOES HAVE THE POSI REAR END. 95 96 97 98 IT LOOKS GREAT FOR A CAR THAT WAS DONE IN 1989 AND FINISHED IN EARLY 1990. 99 Terms of Sale The buyer will submit a NON-REFUNDABLE $2,000 deposit within 48 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle.
