Up for sale is my 1997 Vanden Plas. Currently my driver, but we need something else. The good:Runs and drives ok and gets 17 mpg average. Engine light is NOT on.Seats are nice for the age, and are heated, even the back ones!A/C works, but could use a rechage.Radio with CD/MP3/USB capability, and soundstream door speakers sounds nice.Longwheelbase model allows four adults to sit comfortably. No rust, one dent in the trunk, and a bit of peeling clearcoat, but no rust.Lots of time and money put into it under my ownership, including: Oil changes every 3k miles, New front and rear brake pads, New tires with less than 3k miles on them, New belts and idler pulley, New thermostat, New tie rod ends, Replaced a front spindle and all front wheel bearings, New battery as of last fall... and that's what I can remember. NO RESERVE The bad:Needs a front end alignment. Rear wheel bearings will need attention soon. Only one key. Exhaust is not falling off of the car, but is cracked at the end of the downpipe and is very loud. Jaguary stuff that doesn't work: Rear view mirror has a strange halo in it, clock broken, memory seats non-functional (power seats still work fine, including lumbar), I only have one remote, it works, but is missing the back cover and eats batteries, so I don't use it. The moonroof mechanism is broken, it's been disabled from the switch, and sealed shut. There is one of two interior panels missing that covers the moonroof area. One of the picnic trays in the back has a broken checkarm, it still works. Yes, the dates on the pictures are correct. Freezing slush where I live makes for lousy pics. The only thing different since then visually, is that the peeling clearcoat on the back fender is a few square inches worse. Otherwise, I lexol and wax this thing with regularity. All in all, this is a nice price on a car that runs and drives, I just need something different. NO RESERVE. Feel free to contact me with any questions, and I'll try to get back to you within 24hrs.
