With its heavy-lidded, serial-killer eyes, the 2007 BMW 530Xi looks like a scowling jack-o'-lantern—styled with a paring knife that might have nicked a finger or two. Not bungled, just Bangled. Suspension arms, subframes, steering rack, brake calipers and rotor hats, the hood, front fenders, and most of the front structure forward of the windshield pillars are formed from the weight-saving metal. The 530Xi grabs the lovely 3.0-liter Valvetronic inline 6 and ZF six-speed automatic transmission from the 7 Series flagship. That's what we call a great car. This vehicle contains an extensive list of upgrades, including a premium sound system and six-disc in-dash CD changer, rear sunshade, fold-down rear seat, park distance control, sport package including performance tires (245/40 18 in the front and 275/35 18 in the back), sport seats, lowered suspension, active steering and active roll stabilization, and satellite-radio prep. Design cues from BMW’s flagship 7 Series carry through inside the 2007 5 Series as well. If you've seen the interior of the 7, you have a good idea what the 5's cabin looks like. The dash is dominated by BMW's double wave theme in two portions: one over the instrument cluster, defining the driver's area and another that begins over the dash center and sweeps toward the right side. Double-wave could more accurately be called two-step, with two levels in the dash running the width of the cabin. There is ample space in the trunk. The vehicle has a gorgeous color combination, dark grey exterior with black leather interior, accented by the luxurious wood frames. This particular vehicle is in great shape. Just look at the pictures and judge for yourself. The vehicle is mechanically sound and the interior looks nice and smells great. This car has NOT been smoked in. The engine sounds great, it handles and drives superbly and has no problem developing high speeds. Car runs straight as an arrow and tires do not pull in any direction.
