This is not any ordinary 71 Chevelle SS. It is a true original SS, but that is where the "original" stops and the "custom" begins. First of all it has been totally frame off reconstructed and has a beautiful custom Red with Black Strips paint job that has been carefully color sanded and buffed to a very high gloss. You can see deep into the finish like looking into a mirror. It has a custom hood with a 2 level cowl to accommodate the engine. All the body panels are new with the exception of the roof and the truck lid. All the glass is new except for the rear quarter windows. Both front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed. All weather stripping is new. The chrome grill and molding is all new. It has new head lights and tail lights. The interior is all new and features a custom hand fabricated dash with new gauges. It also has a custom shifter to match the 4 speed automatic transmission 700R4. It also feature a Vintage Air system to keep the passenger compartment cool and comfortable. A custom billet steering wheel, new carpeting and door locks finish the interior off better than new. The engine is a massive ZZ 502/502 crate motor with roller rockers, custom intake with edelbrock carburetor and a beautiful reverse mounted shotgun breather. It has a March billet pulley system as well as several other billet or chromed engine accessories. It is kept running cool by a large capacity bee cool aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. It has ceramic coated full length headers connected to 3 inch exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. It has all new wiring with msd 6 A/L electronics. There is a 7 quart oil pan and a new gas tank with sump. Fuel is supplied to the carburetor by a new electric high volume pump. A new Optima battery resides in the trunk. It is handled by a completely new custom steering unit. The power is transferred through a 700R4 4 speed overdrive transmission built by Monster Transmissions. It has a trans cooler and is connected to a 12 bolt rear end with new axles. The ride is provided by an all new Hotchkins suspension in both front and rear with rear air shock suspension. Stopping all this power happens by custom made disc brakes on all 4 corners made by Baer. The disc are drilled, slotted and polished. All brake lines are braided. And finally, this bad ass car rides on custom wheels made by Billet Specialties. There is $90,000.00 invested in the construction of this fantastic Chevelle ss.
