VERY RARE 1934 CHRYSLER CB CONVERTIBLE SEDAN (4 door Convertible Phaeton) Hello collectors, Here we have a EXTREMELY RARE one of seven known to exist (only 450 of model CB were made) This was Chrysler's most expensive convertible thus few were sold, also it was the "prototype" of the Airstream body style and 1934 was the first year of the new Airflow series. It was Chrysler's Top-of-the-line convertible. All Chryslers were relatively expensive cars and this was their best convertible. Why do you want this car: because it is an Extremely rare ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA CAR with original 1960 TITLE (one caring owner for over 50 years, since at least 1960, now he is 95 yrs old) This rare Chrysler is 80 years old and in superb/solid condition overall, Excellent body & Excellent mechnaical; older paint but presentable overall. The car is running well and is mechanically restored. Engine was rebuilt by previous owner (1 loving owner for past 50+ years!)when we bought it we sent it to our family mechanic for a full going over, we spent about $10,000 doing whatever he found to be needing improvement including engine adjustments & accessories, rebuild transmission, new exhaust system, brakes and so many other parts. It has Chrysler's VERY LARGE 6cyl. engine. In preparation for the sale we sent the back to mechanic recently for a light going over and he has just rebulit the carburator and is cleaning the gas tank, getting it ready for the new owner. The engine runs well and clean, it is a healthy original numbers matching engine. The seats and door panels are deep red pleated & stitched vinyl from the 1960's, still presentable, it needs one rear doorpanel copied from the other and need s a new canvas top. Otherwise THIS CAR IS COMPLETE, everything is there including the original humpback trunk, front & rear carpet, etc! Nice wide whitewall tires. OK old paint with some shine, we know that it will be a knock-out in mirror finish black or Gunmetal with silver accents. We chose this car because it is a VERY VERY RARE model you can NOT find a convertible like this around; production was 450 made, with only 7 TOTAL known to be left! ALL CONVERTIBLE SEDANS are quite rare to begin with, and those restored examples that you see for sale these days are selling for between $75,000-$100,000+up. And this car will be in that range if not more after new paint and interior. You will never find a more solid clean California original. This is a fine investment car, prices have certainly been growing for special cars and this is a museum car with it's extreme rarity, convertibles are always valuable, and it is a top-of-the-line luxury car for 1934! Mileage is low, I put 50,000 but I will double check, it may be lower than that or around there. It will make someone a very fine show car or for a car museum. Includes owners manual and shop manual as well as some other paper items. boxes of extra parts. I am parting with my collection and have priced it to be a fine buy, I have 100% positive feedback and 100% sales, I have almost never had to relist a car from my collection over the 12 years on ebay because I have chosen fine cars and bought them carefully, thus I can afford to make it a good buy for the next owner as well! I do love these rare cars so I always spend whatever is needed to make many improvements when I get a new beauty! As always, I hereby sell this 1934 CHRYSLER CONVERTIBLE AS IS, WHERE IS, I recommend that you send someone to inspect it in person if possible before not after buying it, It is an 80 year old car and thus WILL have flaws and imperfections. PLEASE make sure that you can arrange to have it picked up soon! If you need it delivered to PORT in NJ for overseas or within a few hundred miles I will likely have a fellow that I can recommend for quick delivery. Vehicle must be paid in FULL within 7 days, to assure serious buyers only it will be NON-REFUNDABLE Deposit within 24 hours via Paypal. Please be sure that you want the car and have all funds ready before bidding, I do not have time to spare that is why the car is thousands below market value, I need a quick sale with a quick pickup, It is an AMAZINGLY SOLID ORIGINAL CHRYSLER 4dr. CONVERTIBLE and an EXTREMELY RARE model at that. As you can see it does need cosmetic restoration, but a car like this, being as beautiful, as rare and as solid as this is worth every effort as an investment car. WITH ONLY SEVEN KNOWN TO EXIST THIS CERTAINLY CAN BE CONSIDERED AN EXTREMELY RARE "MUSEUM CAR"! It WAS to be a museum car when Mr. Harrah wanted it for the famous Harrah's Car Museum Collection, and HE could afford any car and he really wanted this one, but this previous owner of over 50+ years loved it and would not sell at ANY price, he was about 94 when he finally allowed it to be passed on to a new owner and I eagerly bought it! This car has all of the options for 1934! The dual side mounted tires make it a most elegant car, the rear mount rack & humpback trunk give it that 1930's look but you can keep the trunk rack off for a more sleek sporty convertible look. The front windshield and all window go down for that wide-open feel like a safari car! It is truly one of the most amazing cars and most rare. As I mentioned when Mr.Harrah (The famous Harrah's car museum & Harrah's casino) tried in person to buy this car from the old man back in the 1970's because it was so rare and a beautiful design, he would not sell. You will not get another chance to own one of these, if you like rare cars for investment this is an opportunity. We thought that there were only 3 but recently found out that there are 7 known to exist, that is about as rare a car as you will find and I am not asking a million dollars! Pictured below is (one in Switzerland and one at the Concours in California). I need to sell my cars now, so I will try to make it a great deal for the buyer. If you are sure that you want it then PLEASE DO the BUY IT NOW. THANK YOU!!! I think that this is my car in the magazine article back in the 1970's in California at a car show. One of the seven known - This one in Switzerland. You may notice that mine HAS the beautiful ORIGINAL Dual Curved glass HEADLIGHTS this one does not! Car is complete, we have both horn trumpets. 2nd of the 7 known. This one at Concours in California.THANK YOU! Hello, I received an email from someone who is apparently very knowledgable about this car. He knows where all (7) of the known remaining examples of the model CB are worldwide; I was only able to discover (3) over the past 3 years. This fellow even knew the name of the previous owner(50 years) of THIS 1934 Chrysler CB Convertible Sedan. So, it is apprently 1 of 7 existing examples (450 built). It can be a very valuable car ($100,000+) if WELL restored cosmetically. You can see on ebay some of the high quality restored top-of-the-line mid-1930's Convertible sedans offered at up to $175,000 or more. This Chrysler is structurally and mechanically in superb condition; it is a true California car with California title papers. Includes original owners manual, shop manual, and other manuals & ephemera. My Buy It Now price is very fair. Someone suggested to contact Jay Leno or some private collections like that his, or perhaps for some car museum collection. Having the dual sidemounted tires and a fold down front windshield are what sold me on it's looks, being a convertible and an even more rare 4 door convertible sedan made it an easy decision. When it is one of only seven existing examples and a beautifully designed car at that, then it is certainly worth considering. Thank you!
