Vehicle Detail
Hi, This is a VERY clean 1996, one of the best years of the classic Jeep Cherokee's. 4 Door, Automatic, 4x4, everything works fine and as it should. LOW miles. It is kept in my garage, and I picked it up from the second owner...sold originally in Texas, and has always been a Texas Jeep. NO RUST. I love vintage unmolested 4x4's, Jeeps and Toyotas. Right after I got this, I found a 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser, 1977 Toyota FJ40 and a 1979 Toyota 4x4 pickup, bot all original. Just sold the 1984 Land Cruiser, and now this one's time has come...can explain it more if you have time...it's tough to pick which one to sell, but darn sure fun to have that issue:) Actually, the little pickup stays at our farm and is a perfect fit there. The FJ40 is an ongoing project and just not ready now. Never wrecked, but had some touch up on back fender (driver side)...you cannot tell, cosmetic only, but I have not been able to find the body trim molding for that very small section (see in pics). Jeep has discontinued it, fyi, so with a good search, it can probably be found easily somewhere. Interior is AWESOME (no rips or tears) and 100% original. The original leather steering wheel is okay, not totally ripped to shreds like most of this age. The only add on interior I have done is the OEM looking cup holders that mount to the original console. Other than that, I just put 4 BRAND new 235x75x15 Open Country A/T tires. If you know these tires, they are high quality, not cheap, and will last a while. Exterior is clean with a nick and door ding hear and there, but not bad. I would not repaint, it shines nicely. A/C has been charged this last summer and it works great. Heater works great. Transmission shifts great. Brakes work great. Shocks in back are new (Sensatrac). The front are older Sensatrac, not sure when they were installed... It has a set up for a tow bar from Towmaster, which is awesome, I have a 98 Wrangler with the same set up, and it makes towing a breeze. Look them up if not familiar. You just need to purchase the bar from them....the Jeep already is wired and ready. It's light and can "freewheel" tow behind most SUV's, trucks, etc. Last thoughts....driver back window is slow and can get stuck. If either needs a new switch or switch/regulator. You can look it up...$200 or so from what I recall if it needs it all. You might be able to clean the switch, lube the regulator, and rock on (I never tried because I don't trust myself to take off the door panel without messing something up:) Alignment seems great as it drives straight down the road with no issues. Springs are original and the short wheel base might be rough on rough terrain/roads to some, fyi. If you are familiar with these, you know how they ride and you probably like it! Or, you know an aftermarket suspension such as Old Man Emu can make the ride very effective off road and smooth on road. Happy Bidding, it is for sale locally (Seguin, TX) as well. I will require a $500 deposit (paypal or wire will work). I reserve the right to end the auction early. You can see/drive if you are near by...just let me know. 512-878-2868. Chad
