1990 HONDA GOLDWING GL1500 WITH LEHMAN MONARCH II TRIKE KIT, BEAUTIFUL WINEBERRY (DEEP BURGANDY METALLIC), ONLY 48K MILES, "EASY STEER" (FORK RAKE) KIT ON BIKE, NEW FRONT TIRE, EXCELLENT REAR TIRES. LOADED WITH USUAL GOLDWING AMENITIES INCLUDING +++REVERSE++++ ELECTRONIC CRUISE CONTROL AND MORE. RUNS AND SHIFTS PERFECTLY AND JUST GETTING BROKEN IN WITH ONLY 47K MILES. CLEAN CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE SO GOOD TO GO FOR ALL 50 STATES (EMISSIONS) LEHMAN IS ONE OF THE BEST TRIKE BUILDERS AND, I THINK, THE FIRST. I'VE HAD FIVE OR SIX GL1500 TRIKES AND THIS ONE RIDES AND HANDLES THE BEST OF ANY I'VE HAD. BELIEVE THIS IS THE "MONARCH II " TRIKE KIT THAT IS USED ON CURRENT GL1800 MODELS. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A 1990 BIKE, THE TRIKE KIT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN PUT ON FAIRLY RECENTLY. HAVEN'T SEEN THIS KIT ON ANY OTHER 1500. JUDGING FROM HOW CLEAN THE BRAKE DRUMS AND THE REST OF THE KIT IS, HASN'T BEEN ON THIS BIKE FOR VERY LONG. I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WAS TRIKED. THE GENTLEMAN I BOUGHT IT FROM HAD IT FOR ONLY A COUPLE OF YEARS AND BOUGHT IT ALREADY TRIKED. HE WOULD NOT HAVE SOLD IT BUT HAD SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUES THAT PRECLUDED HIS CONTINUED RIDING. ACCORDING TO LEHMAN'S WEB SITE, KIT ALONE COSTS ALMOST $9000, NOT INCLUDING COLOR MATCH PAINT. (AND NOT SURE THIS EVEN INCLUDES INSTALLATION) "EASY STEER" KIT IS ANOTHER $1000 NOT INCLUDING INSTALLATION SO KIT AND EASY STEER ALONE WOULD COST ALMOST AS MUCH AS OPENING BID. GO TO THE LEHMAN WEB SITE AND LOOK AT THEIR DIAGRAM ON THE PARTICULARS OF THIS KIT AND THEIR EXPLANATION OF WHY THE HANDLING IS SUPERIOR. KNOW FROM CRAWLING UNDER IT THAT DOES HAVE PROGRESSIVE SUSPENSION WHICH DEFINITELY HELPS. THE BIKE ----- HONDA STARTED A "WHOLE NEW BALLGAME" WITH THE FIRST GOLDWING IN 1975 AND THE GL1500 WAS A QUANTUM LEAP FROM THE PREVIOUS 3 MODELS. THE GL1500 CONTINUED THE SHAFT DRIVEN, WATER COOLED, QUIETEST THING ON 2-WHEELS AND UPPED THE "BAR" CONSIDERABLY. CHANGES INCLUDED: ---FIRST 6 CYLINDER. NOW 1532 CC. REDLINES AT ONLY 5500 RPM. (PART OF WHY THEY LAST SO LONG ---ELECTRONIC CRUISE CONTOL WITH ACCELL/DECEL/RESUME JUST LIKE YOUR CAR'S ---ON-BOARD AIR COMPRESSOR FOR REAR AIR SHOCK ADJUSTMENT AND EXTERNAL AIR SOURCE (YES, CAN AIR UP YOUR OWN OR YOU PAL'S TIRE) ++++FIRST MODEL WITH REVERSE ++++++ ---FACTORY FM/AM/CASSETTE RADIO WITH INTEGRATED INTERCOM SYSTEM A NEW STANDARD FOR QUIET AND SMOOTH. YOU HONESTLY SOMETIMES HAVE TO LOOK AT THE TAC TO BE SURE IT IS STILL RUNNING! GOLDWINGS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN KNOW FOR RELIABILITY AND LONGEVITY, EVEN THE EARLY ONES. THE 1500 RAISED THE BAR CONSIDERABLY HERE. MANY ARE STILL GOING STRONG WITH 300K, 400K, OR MORE MILES. HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN A COUPLE OVER 500K, STILL GOING STRONG, NO OVERHAUL. NICE EXTRAS ON THIS ONE INCLUDING: ---ALMOST NEW "SLIPSTREAM" BRAND WINDSHIELD. (THICKER AND A LITTLE TALLER THAN STOCK) ---CHROME FAIRING GARNISH AND TRIM PIECE ---NEWER STYLE ('98 AND LATER) CHROME ROTOR COVERS ---CHROME HIGHWAY BOARDS ---TRIKE KIT INCLUDES A PARKING BRAKE ---FULL COVER (PER PHOTO) TIRES ARE ALL RADIALS (PART OF GREAT HANDLING). FRONT TIRE IS ALMOST NEW (LESS THAN 1000 MILES) REAR TIRES ARE 15 INCH RADIALS, TREAD SHOWS VERY LITTLE WEAR. RODE THIS A LITTLE OVER 200 MILES A FEW DAYS AGO SO KNOW THAT RUNS AND SHIFTS PERFECTLY. NEWER BATTERY SO IT WON'T NEED ANYTHING FOR A GOOD WHILE. WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RIDE THIS ANYWHERE. AND ++++EVERYTHING WORKS++++ (EVEN CASSETTE PLAYER) PAINT AND CLEAR COAT ON BIKE AND KIT ARE EXCELLENT. HAVE HAD LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS ON IT EVERYWHERE I'VE TAKEN IT. DOES HAVE A FEW SCRATCHES ON THE FENDERS OF THE KIT THAT I'VE TOUCHED UP. PHOTOS SHOW THEM. NOTHING THAT DETRACTS FROM OVERALL OUTSTANDING LOOKING TRIKE. CAN SHIP ALMOST ANYWHERE BUT NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO COME TO YUMA, AZ, (WINTER VEGETABLE CAPITAL OF THE U.S.) AND SEE SOME BEAUTIFUL DESERT SCENERY ON YOUR RIDE HOME.
