Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1972 Mercedes 280SE 4.5 in good original condition. Engine, brakes, rear springs had $4,000 in parts 12 years ago. Approximately 6,000 miles have been driven since. The car was in storage in Montana for 10 years, then brought to North Dakota by the original owner's brother. I bought it from him two years ago and drove it to Wisconsin. Please understand that you are buying it AS IS with no warranty expressed or implied. You are welcome to come and drive the car. I have this car priced very aggressively for quick sale! Please ask any questions and form your own opinion of its condition. This is a very nice example of this era Mercedes sedan. It has the 4.5 V8 automatic on the column, and power windows. Stainless steel trim is in great shape! Drive it in the original patina condition. The body is in very good condition! Minor repairs needed include:minor interior work, engine has an oil leak at the rear of the LH cyl. head, dash lights are not working, odometer is not working, heater controls are broken like every other old Benz I've seen, A/C belts are not on it, and heater blower does not work. The only major rust is on the lower left 1/4 otherwise there is minor surface rust here and there. There is a crack in the windshield and I have a new windshield gasket that goes with and possibly another windshield for it. I drove this car about 200 miles over the summer and it drives great. It could use new shocks and there is front brake chatter; I think the rotor should be turned. The oil pressure is great, temperature great, steers fine, and handles the road like a Mercedes should in the city or on the highway. This is a very enjoyable car that turns heads! If a very nice old Mercedes is what you're looking for, then bid with confidence. This is it!
