Vehicle Detail

1966 Mustang Fastback project car NOTE: Although I am selling the car, I do so with reluctance! I have not had the time to continue this restoration and family considerations justify the sale. Having said that, I don't have to sell it . Please do not inquire / Bid if you are not seriously interested in purchasing this car. I do not have any time to deal with tire kickers! NO TRADES! NO SOLICITORS OFFERING TO SELL THE CAR FOR ME! I reserve the right to end the auction, should I sell it through local advertising. Background: bought in 2004 this car was a relatively solid car. It was my intention was to build a fastback that featured the classic fastback body with modern technology. The car was completely disassembled placed on a rotisserie and media blasted -inside and out!. The car was then epoxy sealed. Any body panels that were rusted or beyond repair were replaced. If I was able to get an OEM part, I did. Unfortunately, as any Mustang enthusiast knows, those parts are getting harder to come by! Therefore, I was as selective as I could be in finding the better quality replacement parts for this build. Panel ReplacementAll new trunk(2) Ford tooled fendersNew drivers door New rear valanceNew fiberglass hood with scoopNew trunk lidPassenger door skinThe door hinges were rebuilt with new springsFront fiberglass valance The under carriage was also epoxy sealed and painted black. Trim features include: billet taillights, billet shelby Cobra gad cap custom rear valance to accommodate a Saleen center exhaust, shelby front apron with billet grille. Ring Bros. billet hood hinges. All exterior trim was either refinished, or replaced. Most of the window trim is original polished pieces. Functional Shelby side scoops were also added. I added stainless steel mesh grills to the scoops. I bought original Ford door locks not repo's. Chrome bullet mirrors. INTERIOR insulated with Dynamat. The seat pans were lowered to accommodate leather Shelby bucket seats. I also have a set of electric seat bases. New headliner, sun visors and rear view mirror were installed. shelby roll bar was installed. Leather rear seat cover. 3" competing seat-belts.The doors and dash were completely stripped primed & repainted black. The metal crinkle finish was retained. Billet door lock knobs and stainless steel trim rings. Power window kit ( not installed ). All lock / door hardware was replaced or refinished. The door hardware was either refinished, even powdered coated the inside window tracks, I know over kill. I have all the dash chrome knobs. I cleaned and reprinted the wiper motor assembly. Nostalgic Air , original style A/C kit. Moto stainless steel/ wood-grained steering wheel. No carpet. Better quality aftermarket 66' style door panels. I have all the original fold down seat parts. They have also been media blasted and primed. Some smaller pieces need to be refinished. Chrome trim kit for fold down seat. Billet Shelby cobra pedals. All new glass and weather stripping. BODY - refinished, slick sanded and base/ cleared in Eleanor colors. Pebble gray and black. Cobra graphics and stripes were added to the driver and passenger side doors. Although this paint job came out fantastic, I was not satisfied with the fitment of the shelby side windows and drip rails. That will need to be addressed. I have replacement trim for Shelby side windows and new drip rails. The car is very straight as the pictures will show. 3coats of clear then wet sanded and buffed. The windshield moldings are all original. they are in excellent condition.Wiper arms are new. New better quality repo front and rear bumpers.New backup lights and related hardware. Painless complete wiring harness. Stainless steel hood pins. New trunk latch, catch and lock. New door handles. New vent window frames and guides. Any original door/ window hardware was media blasted and powdered coated. Hood needs to be adjusted. The trunk lid, fenders and doors were painted off the car. WHEELS and TIRES - New American Racing Torque Thrust D with billet cobra center caps. Tires BF Goodrich 205/ 60R 15 g Force Sport. New brake lines and billet duel reservoir master cylinder. SUSPENSION - Global West negative roll upper control arms. Gobal West adjustable struts. Global West lower control arms. Air Ride Technologies air ride system. Duel custom made aluminum air tanks. Aluminum heads GT 40 heads. Holly programmable engine management system # 950-106. Now you can get the horsepower and drivability of a tunable EFI system for your fuel injected V8 with these Holley Commander 950 engine management systems. These kits use speed density technology, which means they improve performance at cruising rpms, as well as throttle response. They also accept engine modifications like bigger cams, headers, etc. But the big deal is that these systems are fully programmable. They give you total control over fuel and timing curves via a laptop computer. These Holley engine management system kits contain the Commander 950 ECU, wiring harness and sensors, where applicable, that you'll need to make a customized fuel injection installation. Intake Manifold, Cobra, Aluminum, Polished, Multi-Port, Ford, Mustang, 5.0L, Kit. MSD FORD billet pro distributor. MSD 6A CD Ignitions 6200. MSD blaster-2-ignition-coil. Mcclude scatter shield. New clutch. Triaxx shifter. No drive shaft. As you can see, and noted in this sales ad, I have invested countless hours of labor and money to get this point in this restoration. Due to a defective harddrive I lost most of the pictures of the in progress pictures of the body work done to the car. I have most of the receipts for the parts. This is a fantastic project for the hard core Mustang enthusiast. I have more photographs of the car and the parts . The suspension parts on this car were liquid masked when the car was painted. The mask has not been cleaned off the parts and that is why the some of the parts appear dirty. Car and parts are sold as is. Purchaser is responsible for all shipping and delivery costs. No warranties are expressed or implied with this sale.
