VERY RARE 1949 PACKARD CUSTOM 8Hello Packard collectors,Here we have a VERY rare version of the '49 Packard, the Custom series.It was Packard's Top-of-the-line car. All Packards were relatively expensive cars and this was their best.Why do you want this car because it has a magnificent ORIGINAL interior, 65 years old and in superb condition overall, a few tiny flaws but beautiful overallwith Packard's best materials. The thick blue mouton wool carpet is quiet decent overall only needing to sew in a replacement carpet piece under the drivers feet.(I'm including a roll of matched color carpet in the trunk that can do the job).The car was running well when we bought it but we sent to our family mechanic for a full going over, we spent well over $2000 doing whatever he found to be needing including new exhuast system, brakes and many other parts.It has the overdrive and the Packard semi-automatic transmission which is complete, yet now set up to drive as a manual. If you need it to semi-automatic, it's all there, you would need to fix some relay or something that makes it auto-shift. We decided that it was NOT important or necessary to use the car. It starts on the first try and runs very well, it has Packard's largest engine as the Custom 8. It was appointed with the best of everything, The seats are really beautiful and original, door panels also great, you could put some new gloss on the woodgraining on the doors, the dash woodgrain is also very nice original. Nice wide whitewall tires. Nice old paint with a fine shine, has just a scratch on the trunk otherwise a nice mirror shine overall. We chose this car because it is a RARE model you can NOT find the CUSTOM 8. The custom 8 has the unsual "tell-tale" sign...a headliner that has ribs that run from front to back instead of side-to-side and the delux interior. among other special options!It will make someone a very fine driver. Includes owners manual and shop manual as well as some other paper items. 2 boxes of extra parts.I am parting with my collection and have priced it to be a fine buy,I have 100% positive feedback and 100% sales, I have never had to relist a car from my collection over the 14 years on ebay because I have chosen fine cars and bought them carefully, thus a good buy for the next guy as well! Not to mention all of the improvements that I have done when I get a new beauty! As always, I hereby sell this 1949 Packard Custom 8 AS IS, WHERE IS, I recommend that you send someone to inspect it in person if possible, It is a 65 year old car and thus will have flaws and imperfections. PLEASE make sure that you can arrange to have it picked up as soon as possible, I do NOT have garage space for it!
