Vehicle Detail
1956 Chevrolet Bel Air High Quality Custom Hot Rod The original builder of this car started off with a rock solid 1956 Chevy 2 dr. Bel Air post car and went to town: · First off, the car was stripped and painted in a custom black and silver mirror finish with tasteful, but striking flames. · A 355 ci. 450 HP aluminum head small block Chevy was installed, featuring Edelbrock Victor Junior aluminum heads, RPM gap intake, Harland Sharp roller rockers, high lift hydraulic cam… hooked up to a TCI Transmission with a 3000 Stall Shift Kit. There is an estimated $15,000+ in this drive train alone, and one flick of the key and tap on the gas and you’ll know it. The sound and thrust of this engine are phenomenal. · The engine compartment is show detailed and features a Griffin polished Aluminum Radiator, MSD Ignition, Chromed Brake Booster, and a pair of custom valve covers and air cleaner that repeat the flame pattern of the exterior. · Power is delivered to the ground via a 12 bolt GM rear with girdle, 3.73 gears and Positraction. · Stopping force to all this power is via Power Disc Brakes (Front) and Drums (Rear). · The rebuilt suspension includes tubular Stainless Upper and Lower A-Arms. · The car rides on a Shock Wave Pro E suspension from Air Ride Technologies, tweaked to perfection, so ride and height are accomplished via two sets of match-the-needle gauges controlled by rocker switches, all housed in a custom built console. · Wheels are brand new 17” Centerline Billets shod with New Pirelli Radials. · The interior is full custom with 60’s style GM bucket seats in a two-tone weave with bow-tie stylized door, rear side and trunk panels. A padded dash and period-style gauges (Moon 8 Grand tach and Auto Meter oil, temp and voltage) add the correct finishing touch. The condition when I purchased it was excellent. New chrome and stainless, superb paint, interior fresh and beautiful… but like all custom cars, there’s always something more you can do. So, I took over a year to fine tune and further refine the car, installing a complete new wiring harness and modern fusebox, replacing all the rubber seals and weather stripping, detailing the door jambs, adding the rocker panel and wheel well chrome, installing the proper padded dash and period auxiliary gauges, tweaking the suspension to the nines with an upgrade from Air Ride to their latest tech. I added a removable custom trunk divider with Chevy logo (access panel to the Air Ride equipment) and a custom package tray that matches the interior trim. The car also comes with a brand new set of front and rear shocks, front coil-overs, and rear springs in case you want to return the suspension to stock. I thought that might have been a possibility until I had the suspension set up correctly, and now it’s out of the question. It works and rides like a dream. But the parts come with the car, as does a factory power steering setup, another matter of choice for the next owner. So, two sets of owner/builders have take over three years to build one of the most stunning Tri-Five Chevy hot rods around, with a modern, superfast powertrain and road/raceworthy suspension and a show stopping period look. Now, all that’s left is to go cruising. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me, Michael at 347 585 4200. Anytime.
