Hello and thank you for viewing my auction. Before bidding, please make sure: 1. You are serious about bidding and paying 2. You have enough cash available in your pocket or bank account to cover your bid 3. You read the entire description of the car 4. You understand that I accept cash or money order (except for the deposit, which is to be paid via PayPal) 5. You understand that you are responsible for any shipping fees 6. You understand that the winning bid is the total amount that you will pay me for the car and there will be no price negotiations (so please read the entire description so you are aware of imperfections that the car has) 7. You understand that the car is sold as is 8. Reserve is super super super low, so please, don’t bid unless you have the money. You don’t want to be surprised that you placed a bid and all of a sudden the reserve is met and you don’t have the money cause you didn’t expect it to be so low. 9. Please do not expect a car in perfect condition. It is a very, very nice car with a very low reserve but it didn’t just roll out of the assembly line. It’s an 89 and it wasn’t kept in a bubble10 Please email me for additional pics which I have posted on picasaweb. Ebay is not allowing me to post a link and ebay allows only 24 pictures. 11 Please be advised that I am also trying to sell my car locally. This is a short (7day) auction, but (just in case) should I receive an acceptable offer locally, then I will remove the auction. Of course, if the reserve is reached, then I will no longer accept any local offers. By placing a bid you agree that in case you win the auction you will: 1. Pay the deposit within 48 hours 2. Pay the remainder within 7 days of the end of the auction. 3. Arrange to pick up the car or have it shipped Quick info: * 91,014 miles * 100% stock, 350 factory motor (5.7 Liter) Tuned Port Injection, Automatic (Thirdgen camaros with 5.7 Liter came with Automatics only, 305s (5.0) had the option of Manual or Automatic). * I do have the original, stock radio too, which I am including with the car, although it is not installed (an aftermarket radio is installed as shown in pictures) Great overall condition * Everything works * 3.27 Rear End (Borg Warner). When I bought this car it had a 2.77 but I had a chance to get a 3.27 Rear for a mare $500 so I couldn’t pass on this chance. This is the reason why you will not see a G92 listed on the RPO codes, but the Rear is 3.27 (which still makes this car 100% stock, since the 3.27 was an option for this camaro, so this is not some aftermarket option that is not correct with the year/model) * New injectors (all 8) about 8,000 miles ago (Blue Devil Fuel Injectors, great injectors!) * Fog lamps are original (I’m mentioning this cause on a 23 year old car in case of a broken fog lamp, any one could put a set of $20 fog lamps from Walmart or Autozone, but to keep the car 100% stock, factory fog lamps are a) almost impossible to get, b) cost around $300 (just search “Iroc Fog Lamp” on ebay) Good luck! I have owned this car since 2007. This was my baby and I took a great care of it. I am crazy about 89 Irocs and I hate to sell this car but unfortunately I have to. I purchased this car with 69,000 miles on it. Right now it has 91014 on it. The mileage is original. I put 22,000 miles in 5 years. I would say about 17,000 miles (or more) that I put on the car were highway miles. I would have put less than 10,000 miles on this car in the 5 year period but I have made 3 trips from Illinois to California and back and that’s a little over 12,000 miles right there. I haven’t really driven this car for the past two years (I took it out once this summer and twice the summer before and it was in storage since October 2010). I was simply too busy in the past two years to even go to a beach on regular bases like I used to and I just got my CDL license and I plan on working a lot for the next couple of years so I definitely won’t have time to enjoy this car. This was mostly a “beach” car. I lived part in Illinois and part in California. In Illinois I mostly used this car to go to my favorite beach in Indiana and pretty much the same in California, I used the car mostly to go to a beach, although I usually rode my motorcycle in California, even to a beach, since I lived in a burb of L.A. and traffic in L.A. metro is so bad, motorcycle makes more sense (since you can simply go in between lanes on a motorcycle instead of being stuck in a car). Exterior The car looks great although not perfect. I would give the exterior 9 out of 10. The only reason I give it a 9 out of 10 is because I had most of the car repainted about 2 months ago. The exterior was actually 10 out of 10 before the paint job. The guy who painted it charged me a professional amount of money for the paint job but did a little bit less than a professional job. It’s not a Maaco job (since so many people use “Maaco” as a synonym of a bad paint job) but for the amount of money that I spent I would expect a flawless paint job. Don’t get me wrong, the car looks really good, but not perfect. The guy messed up the hood. If you stand close to the car and you take a really close look you will notice that the hood had imperfections. I think he did a crappy prep job, didn’t send it right or something, cause if you look closely you will notice some “waves”, like if the hood wasn’t perfectly flat. I am sorry for no good pictures but I took them all with my cell phone. The stripes at the bottom of the car (silver and black) also have some tiny lines here and there. Stripes don’t look bad as in “yeah, they need to be replaced”, but I’m just mentioning, they are not perfect. In a few places the car has some small touch ups, to cover chips from small rocks. Again, this is nothing major, again, most of the car was recently repainted, so there are only a few touch ups here and there, most people won’t even notice them while looking at the car, unless they will be specifically looking to find them. Tires have about 8,000 miles on them, I’d say 90% of these miles are highway. Really nice tires, correct size, ZR rated if you decide to go 150 MPH. And according to a 1987 MotorTrend issue, 87 Mustang GT vs 87 Iroc-Z, these cars will do 150 MPH. T-top seal is brand new, I installed it about two weeks ago. The seal on the T-top was in perfect working order, but the T-Bar was rusting for some reason. The seal looked brand new when I bought the car in 2007 so I don’t know if the previous owner has just changed it but didn’t bother to check the T-Bar but in anycase the seal was in great condition yet the T-Bar was developing rust. So in order to have the T-Bar redone, I had to remove the seal and since it’s glued to the T-Bar there’s pretty much no way to take it off without damaging it. So once the T-Bar was redone, I purchased brand new seal. Another thing the new owner won’t have to worry about for many years to come :) The new seal came with additional seals for the T-Tops but I did not change those as I didn’t have time to do it, and the old seals are in great condition. The rear hatch glass has a metal frame around it. The color started to wear out and sooner or later that little frame will need to be resprayed otherwise it may start to rust and I’m sure rust is something this car does not want to see. Interior I will give the interior a 9 out of 10. It looks really great except for the standard seat rip which is very typical for these camaros. The headlines (when you take the t-tops off) has a few spots were it seems to be “too stretched” and not covering everything as it should. Because of the seat and the headliner and some minor “scratches” (in the back on side panes) I give it 9 of of 10 instead of 10. As you can see in the pics, the interior is black, not gray or even worse the ugly red. This was a rare option on red irocs as most of the red ones came with the ugly red interior. The red exterior/black interior combo looks just beautiful. As far as I know no one ever smoked in this car. The radio is an aftermarket but I have the original one, which I am including with the auction. Everything works, all the controls. Please don’t ask “does the power seat work in every direction?” or “do power mirrors work?” YES! “but do the work up and down? and left? and right?” Everything works, that means EVERYTHING works and works properly. Now I have driven this car only 3 times in the past two years, but I took it out today to a near by park to take some pictures and at the same time I made sure that power mirrors work, the power seat, etc, lights, vent, air conditioning etc. And there is an original T-Top bag in the trunk, with the hooks etc to safely store the T-tops. Spare wheel is the factory Stowaway wheel. Original jack, wrench, wheel etc all included (sorry for no picture). It’s in the trunk, on the right side in the hidden compartment design for it. Originally these sets came with a can of compressed air to inflate the spare wheel, but.... come on, who would rely on a 23 year old can of compressed air. I am including an electrical air compressor just in case you ever need it. It’s store with the spare wheel. Mechanical The engine works great, pulls hard all the way to the 5,500 RPM red line and the transmission shifts right at the red line like it should. I have no complains here. Brakes work fine, as a matter of fact I replaced the master cylinder, power booster and brake pads about 5,000 miles ago. Not that there was something wrong with them, but on one of my trips from Colorado I overheated the brakes and I had to have the rotors turned. At that time I also decided to replace the booster and master cylinder as a simple precaution (after all it was a 20 year old car at that time). I replaced the brake pads both at front and rear wheels. The only mechanical complaint that I have is that the car makes some noise in the rear. I believe it’s one of the bearings that needs to be replaced. I am a little mad at myself because I didn’t notice that until today but I didn’t drive the car for two years, except for like 3 times and I usually have my radio on so I just didn’t hear it. Otherwise I would have fixed the issue right away. I don’t like leaving problems. Other info Ok, so the car is 100%, with a 3.27 Rear End (instead of the original 2.77). The 3.27 made it much livlier. I never raced it, but even for regular driving, when you’re somewhere in the hills of Colorado and you want to pass someone it makes a nice difference. And if I am to be anal about everything here then the actual mileage is about 90,000, not 91,014. Why? Because when I swapped the rear end I did not have the right gears for the odometer. After the swap I made a trip to California and did not get and change those gears until I came back from California to Illinois. I put about 6,000 miles before I put the correct gears in and if you do the math between 2.77 and 3.27 you will come up with about an extra 1000 miles that were registered on my odometer. It was not fun really driving across the nation with speedometer constantly showing incorrect speed but.... now I know that if I ever change rear axles I better have the gears for the transmission so the speedometer cable spins at the correct speed. I do have the original Owner’s Manual with the original RPO code sticker. Here are some nice things that I did to the car (I’m sure guys who are as crazy as me about Irocs and read on Thirdgen.org about first things that should be done on a thirdgen Camaro will know right away that these things are pretty much as must and.... with keeping the car stock): K&N filters, Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator (even though I ended up leaving it at a stock setting, so you are free to crank it up if you want to squeeze an extra 20 hp and up to 50 lbs of torque), Airbox cutout, Coolant bypass, MAF screen cutout, MAF radiator cutout, 170F Thermostat (with 3 wholes to prevent hot pockets), replaced fuel injectors with new Blue Devil injectors about 8,000 miles ago, Remote Starter Solenoid. The above mods are not changing the fact that the car is 100% stock, they only help the car run better than factory. Please note: Remote Starter Solenoid is not a remote starter! Remote Solenoid means that I have installed an external Starter Motor Solenoid. As many of you know, many thirdgen Camaros were plagued by starter motors that would not work if the engine was hot (especially on hot summer days). The starter motor is not at fault here, but the solenoid that’s a part of the starter motor which on a thirdgen Camaro absorbs a brutal amounts of heat from the engine. The solution is simple: either keep replacing starter motors every time a solenoid starts malfunctioning and doing that for ever or install an external solenoid and not worry about the starter motor ever again. I installed the remote solenoid so now you won’t have to ever worry, that someday, on a nice, hot summer day the car won’t start. That’s pretty much all that I can remember for now. In short, it’s a great car, all numbers match, original 91,014 miles, car looks great in and out but is not perfect. Please keep in mind that the exterior paint, although looking nice and having a nice shine, is not perfect, especially on the hood and that there are a few touch ups here and there. Interior has a rip on the seat (or two rips actually as in the picture), right T-top has some fade on the edge (can be easily repainted to make it look brand new). And there’s a noise in the back, so you will need to replace a bearing sooner or later. Again, don’t expect a car that just came out of a factory. It is a very nice car though, very nice tires, all you need to do is drive it. It has Mobile 1 15,000 mile oil in it, changed about 4,000 miles ago. It’s been in the car for a couple of years (keep in mind I almost didn’t drive it for two years), but you can very safely put 5,000 miles on it before a change (I’ve been changing oil every 6,000 miles, even though it’s a 15,000 mile oil, I like taking great care of my engines). Please bid only if you have the money! The reserve is super super super low for the condition this car is in. This is one of a nicest irocs around. Seriously the reserve is very low. Ask any questions, I’ll try to answer asap. Good Luck! BTW, this car could make a great Christmas gift!
