Vehicle Detail
1976 Ford Mustang Cobra II with just 16,490 original miles! Looks and drives every bit as good as she did 37 years ago in 1976. Stored for over 30 years in a climate controled garage resulting in what may be one of the nicest Cobra II's in existance. Please look closely at our over 50 photos along with our 10 minute youtube walk around video presentation. This is an all original, rust free vehicle with every feature in perfect condition and perfect working order. Features include; 2.8 V6, automatic transmission, front and rear spoiler, rally wheels and original am 8 track radio. Although the 1970's offered very little muscle in their muscle car offerings they did have a great mind for style. Although this is a 103 HP V6 keep in mind the 302 V8 Cobra II offered just 31 more at a dissapointing 134 HP so if your looking for muscle in your classic ride, I would recommend having a look at our numbered 300HP 1995 Ram Air Trans Am Firehawk. As you have read in my responses I am not an expert on this model and do not in any way want to misrepresent this car nor dissapoint it's new owner. As you will see in the 16 new photos of it's under carriage, this truly is a very rare car in unbelievable condition for it's age. Unfortunately I can not figure out how to add these new photos to this existing listing so please view them on our site at indyautosource.net.On Dec-25-12 at 16:58:28 PST, seller added the following information:Thanks to everyone following this very rare Mustang. I want to let all potential buyers know that not only does this car include all of the original books such as; Consumer Information Label, Starting Instructions still on the drivers visor, original am 8 track book along with Owners Book it also includes documentation on it's mileage. With the car also comes a Notorized Mileage Statement letter dated September 4, 1999 from Ron McCoy to a H Ed Smith stating actual miles of 15,000 at the time of it's sale. Our customer purchased the car from the Estate of H. Ed Smith after his passing. Our customer also also signed a legal Indiana Odometer Statement attesting to it having an original 16,490 miles. In addition, I also have a Jiffy Lube oil change receipt from 6-16-1995 in the name of Ron McCoy for a full service oil change at 12,791 miles. This cars mileage is documented and is a true mileage vehicle. Our customer purchased it 10 years ago and never titled it. It remained in his storage with over 25 other classic vehicles. All documents along with copies of it's title when sold to our customer will again be provided to the very lucky winning bidder of this 16,490 mileage 37 year old Mustang. I will post in with our photos on indyautosource.net a scanned copy of these documents on Wednesday AM. Thanks again. On Dec-26-12 at 07:48:47 PST, seller added the following information:Hi I wanted to let everyone following this Mustang Cobra II know that I just added 5 photos of the following to our listing on indyautosource.net: title, all books and literature which are in amazing condition, Jiffy Lube oil change record dated with miles, Notarized letter of mileage at time of sale to the owner who upon his death our customer purchased it from 10 years ago along with the original owners book supplemental towing instructions slip for COBRA II OWNERS ONLY due to the lower front spoiler only installed on COBRA II's. This is a documented miles original car. I would also like to add to my previous clarifications regarding "Exempt" on a title. On every title or Odometer Statement there are in deed 2 lines with boxes next to them that read: "The odometer reading stated is in excess of its mechanical limits." and "The odometer reading is NOT actual mileage." Please notice that neither of these 2 options say anything about miles being exempt. Again, the term Exempt is an arbitrary term BMV's have used over the years on vehicles over a certain age. My guess is that this was common place in the early days when odometers only read into the 10,000's then 100,000's. Unfortunately this is a practice that still occurs and in the case of this 1976 Mustang this obviously is what the BMV insisted on when Ron McCoy sold it to H. Ed Smith and thats why the two parties went through the trouble of having a statement of true miles on this car Notarized 2 days after H. Ed Smith went to the Indiana BMV. Please note the dates on the title of 9-4-1999 and the Notaries date of 9-6-1999. Thanks again for all of your interest. Hopefully I have cleared up any lingering concerns.
