Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is an almost complete vintage 76 CB400F super sport café racer build. If you’ve wanted a café racer, this is most likely the least expensive way to get a great one, without working too long to build it. I’ve invested thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours in creating a bike I would be proud of. As I have decided I will not be riding a bike on Los Angeles’ freeways, my time investment on this project will be concluded upon finishing this listing. My philosophy in building this bike was to save as much weight as possible, while still maintaining an authentic café style. History: About two years ago, I purchased this bike. It ran, but leaked oil and needed a tune up. Since then this bike has received: · New rings and top end seals and gaskets · Cleaned Carburetors (With new pod air filters) · Work removing unnecessary weight from the frame and adding a custom battery cradle that is positioned under the seat. · Freshly powder coated frame, swing arm (with new bushings), and various other parts (lower triple tree, rear springs, fork brace, kick stand, brake pedal and linkage, etc...) · Polished aluminum (Forks, upper triple tree, front brake caliper, rear brake drum, motor mounts) · Inspected, cleaned, and greased front and rear brakes · Custom aluminum front motor mounts, exhaust hanger and license plate holder · Deletion of the heavy headlight mount assembly. · Deletion of the heavy lower kick stand assembly (the side kick stand is still installed). · New lightweight headlight mount · Trued and balanced wheels · Freshly painted header with new ceramic exhaust wrap · Fresh vintage-style fuel tank paint. · New chain (o-ring) · New fork gators · New oil filter · New gel battery · New speedometer · New tachometer · New, custom throttle cables · New throttle tube · New turn signals · New brake light · New mirrors · New clubman handlebars · New horn · New control switches · New Café seat pan that can fit two · New aluminum license/exhaust mount · Aftermarket points-free ignition · Aftermarket Kerker exhaust · New spark plugs · New oil filter and seals What this bike still needs · Some minor fabrication and assembly (Fuel tank mounting, seat pan mounting, rear mud protector mounting, foot pegs mounting) · Fuel tank assembly (lid, fuel-pickup, new fuel line is included) · Seat pan paint (paint used on the tank included) · Seat pad (leather and padding included, but will need to be assembled and mounted) · Parts of a regular tune up o Adjusted lifters o Adjusted cam chain o Synced and adjusted carburetors · Clutch lever · Kick start lever (The electric starter still works) · Engine oil Check out all of the images on the Photobucket link below. http://s1122.beta.photobucket.com/user/jeremyldavis14/library/76%20CB400F%20Cafe%20Racer
