Vehicle Detail

NOTE: eBay's "parts car category means 'salvage only--cannot be driven or repaired'. Since eBay doesn't have a category for 'cannot be sold to anyone who hasn't had a recent lobotomy and tetanus shot' I listed this as a regular car. Read on though and you'll get the idea that it has some usability limitations. As usual, no reserve, opening bid set at what we'd get from salvage guys plus the ebay nickle. The vehicle: 1991 Geo Tracker Convertible (that is, most of the roof comes off via 2 removable panels)The Story Line: 105k mi. Mechanic owned! We've had this car around for a year or two for parts running. Partner/head mechanic Tom went thru the vitals including:-timing belt, water pump-front springs, ball joints-brakes including new lines all around (the only thing in the pictures that isn't rusted)!-fuel tank, pump and fuel lines-belts, hoses, fluids, filtersIt's got decent Goodyear's still showing some life at the 4 corners. Old-school real 4 wheel drive with front manual locking hubs works great. Clutch is solid and shifting smooth. No fluid leaks, no overheating problems, lights and charging system and electrics all working (except the horn). No check engine lights or service warnings. Exhaust is solid. It's been driven daily so no reason it couldn't be driven home to somewhere where it's parts are needed.BUT....This jewel is only for those who don't suffer from Oxidatiaphobia (fear of rust)--this car is bad. really bad. I think the GEO people ought to re-call it just to see where their metallurgy went wrong. I put more pictures of the bottom than of the rest of the car because they remind me of those bill boards that show you how you rot out inside when you smoke. Our body shop consultant thinks the body may be levitating cause you sure can't find much metal where it's supposed to mount to the rails. The irony of this car is the mount points for the suspension and the corner pads for the body--known Tracker trouble spots are still pretty solid! The interior isn't bad either--it's had seat covers on it (genuine 'sheep skin' on the driver's side I'll have you know) protecting the low-quality cloth buckets--from the 'old gm'. (I suppose the 'new gm' goes with the highest bidder, eh)? Note to Bidders: Feedback less than 10? You must contact me before bidding to review my terms and conditions. John @ 330 958-1825. Note to Scammers: Don’t even think about it! I do not do bundled shipping and nobody is going to ship this jewel to London, pal. I don’t care if you are in the merchant marine or your dad was the late president of Sri Lanka--if you don’t have a PayPal account we aren’t doing business, period. And furthermore, the boiler rooms you guys call from are so noisy these days I can hear your buddies in the background asking the same stupid scammer questions: “So why are you selling your, er, ‘item’…” About the Seller:I am a mechanical engineer with 40 yrs experience in the vehicle industry aftermarket. I’ve raced, toured, modified, repaired and restored motorcycles and cars as a lifetime hobby. I sell bikes and cars for friends and family. I take full responsibility for my descriptions and enjoy a good reputation by making sure there are no surprises at delivery. I am not a dealer so there are no hidden fees, junk fees, no free TV’s, and no suspenseful consultations with “the sales manager” (that’s me)! Please note my feedback and understand that I make a living by providing accurate descriptions of the vehicles I list for family, friends and estates. I stand by my description and will gladly provide any additional details you may require to make an informed bidding decision. Of course, we all know that any used vehicle may or may not do what you or I or anyone expect it to do and as such is sold as-is where-is with no warrantees expressed or implied.
