Selling my 1978 mercedes benz 450sl. 4.5l v8 runs well, no tapping, knocks etc. This car is a project car and does have some minor issues. The transmission slips in and out of 2nd but otherwise holds strong. Dont have time to diagnose, may be a vacuum modulator as ive been told, and could use a repaint as it does have a few small problem areas. It has both tops, all original with new tires, starter, battery, alternator, bilstein shocks, ansa exhaust, recent oil change, plug wires, and plugs. The car needs a new valve cover gasket (small leak), in addition to the other issues. Just did 2 round trips to Florence, AL (2200 mi) from Jacksonville, FL without any hiccups.. Silver exterior over red interior. The interior is in pretty good shape minus a tear on the drivers seat, and some minor fading. This car would make a great weekend cruiser, beach car, or father/son project for someone, just needs a little tlc. Ive always planned on keeping, but my job and storage at home is forcing a sale. Car has been in the family since new, im only selling it as its a secondary car and do not have the storage space any longer. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!
