So, we'll talk about the performance of this luxurious monster! Supercharged V-6The S5 cabriolet gets a supercharged 3.0L 6 cylinder. You'll find this vehicle equipped with 333 horsepower settles itself nicely with a flat rumble of the exhaust. When you crank on the engine and get past idle, the exhaust turns into a higher pitch growl that imitates a thoroughbred sportscar. The engine pulls strongly as the revs build higher, although we find that this is one of the most usable power bands in this market of vehicle. We're Porsche guys and even though Audi is our close cousin, we are tough critics. It pops through gears far swifter than any stick shift driver could, with nice and short ratios that allow the engine to hit stride quickly. If you activate the "Dynamic" mode, it goes for even lower gearing which could help you power through corners even better. I've found that this Audi has very instinctive response times. Even when the transmission is in any mode you'll find it's quick and reliable in any situation. We find that for driving around town at say 35mph to 55mph the Audi handles like a champ and at 65mph + it's really in a class by itself if you're comparing it to it's direct competitors.Going toplessOne thing that we love about Audi's is that they like the Porsche still utilize a soft top. Which makes the time taken for the top to open and/or close a lot shorter than the competitors like the BMW or Volvo or Infiniti's of the world. For example, we timed it and the Audi takes right at 18 seconds to get the top down. In past vehicles that we've had the BMW and Infiniti's time taken was over 30 seconds. Which in our opinion at a stop light would be a little embarassing.Look InsideAnother thing that you'll love about the S5's cabin is the materials are ultra good. Elements from the window switches to the dials for the radio to turn signals feel really nice and feel of high quality.
