Hello, and thank you for looking at my Land Rover Defender for sale. Before I describe it here, please let me ask that you read the ENTIRE ad before asking questions, or bidding. I have some requirements for bidders, and by bidding on this vehicle it is understood that you agree to ALL the purchase terms described in this ad. Most important to me are the following terms: A) IF you have zero, or negative feedback as a buyer, please message me with contact information BEFORE bidding or I will have to erase your bid and block you from bidding on this Defender. That is what is important to me here to make this a fair auction and sale! So, onto the truck for sale here: You should know that I just purchased this (And another Defender 90 Station Wagon that will be for sale here soon too - check my other auctions and stay tuned for it, I'll include a picture or two of it here for you) 1987 Land Rover Defender 110 a few weeks ago in the United Kingdom. I flew over, made the deal, and drove it around for the two weeks I was there in England. Truck is great, and I love it, but this is becoming a business for me, and my intention is to bring a few in a year to sell, and this one will help me fund that possibility. The VIN # of the truck is SALLDHMV7BA298780 - The ebay robot will not accept this VIN# for an '87 for some reason, so I had to indicate it as a '1981' - IT IS ACTUALLY A 1987! - It is a RHD/ right-hand-drive 1987 110 2-door 'van' with a removable top. It can be made a convertible, soft-top, or even truck with the (not included, but I can get one for you) truck cab top. This Defender originally came with the thirsty V8 gasoline engine, but was converted a few years ago to a NEW 300tdi 2.5L diesel engine. Truck has 131K miles on it, the engine (And 5-speed transmission) only just over 50K! Engine always starts on the first crank, even in sub-zero weather. Engine has no leaks, and does not smoke. Mechanically truck is brilliant, and after driving over 700 miles, I can attest that it does return over 25 miles to the gallon, even when driven 'hard'. I believe it has Discovery axles too, as it cruises easily at 75MPH, and will go 100 plus with enough room. Turbo diesel engine runs great, and is very economical. Has enough torque and power to tow a trailer, or load a ton of freight in the back and haul all day. I should also mention the truck has current registration, and was taxed in England, which can only happen if the truck has absolutely no problems whatsoever. THE DEFENDER IS SAILING TO THE US THIS WEEK, and will be arriving in Portland, OR after the 20th of this month. Estimated date of arrival is December 19-30th. It could take up to a week longer too, depending on how long the container takes to clear customs. It should also be noted that for the purchase price, I have taken care of all the paperwork for this truck to meet all DOT and EPA requirements and I will provide all paperwork for you to get a title and registration in your state. If you do not mind waiting an extra 30 days, I can even get the Oregon title and registration for you before you pick it up. THE BODY / COSMETICS OF THE TRUCK : As you can see, the truck looks very sharp! Paint is shiny, and you can see faintly where a business had decals on the sides for their business name. Frame is perfectly straight, and entire body/ frame/ bumpers are absolutely rust free. All lights work. All electrical items (Wipers/ fan/ CD/ radio) work as they should. Truck is also equipped with an alarm and immobilizer so nobody can steal your precious Defender! Interior looks very clean, and seats are nice. Dash is very nice. Steering wheel is of course in a ‘funny’ position on the right, but you get used to that quickly enough. I CAN SWAP THE STEERING POSTION TO THE LEFT HAND SIDE FOR YOU IF YOU PREFER, for the total cost of labor, to be estimated at $2K. IF THIS IS OF INTEREST, BE SURE TO LET ME KNOW BEFORE YOU BID. About the only blemish inside the truck is that the drivers side door lock button fell off, which I will fix before you pick up. Cargo area is neatly finished in hard plywood so you can load/ unload most cargo without fear of damaging the paint or body. If you look closely at the sides, you can see some waves and minor dings from loads leaning against the inside of these walls. THER IS ONE DENT ON THE LEFT HAND FRONT FENDER as seen in pictures. IT looks minor and does not bother me at all, and of course, you can get it fixed easily enough if you like. There is a small nick on the (flat) windscreen that can be easily fixed by a rock-chip-guy back here. Tires are nice knobbies, like new, and all 5 wheels and tires match. Has a tow package and rear steps, all as pictured. Truck looks and drives great. MECHANICAL STUFF: You can hop in this and drive it now anywhere, and it gets great mileage. As I mentioned, it has a newer 300 TDI diesel direct-injection-turbo-intercooled engine. Has about 220FT LBS of torque and gets over 25MPG. 5-speed transmission shifts great. Has heavy-duty springs and rides a bit stiffer than a Discovery or Range Rover, but that is because this is a work truck that you can actually use to haul loads around. This would make a great advertising piece as well as being a smart delivery vehicle as it gets A LOT OF ATTENTION everywhere it goes. 4X4 guys will love it. You’ll love it. Brakes are great. Truck drives great. Engine conversion was very professional and looks absolutely stock and perfect. Transfer case has locking differential, and works perfectly. Overall, this truck is a 9 out of a 10, mechanically at least a 9.5 out of 10. PLEASE MESSAGE WITH ANY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS THOUGH.
