Vehicle Detail

I'm losing money on this one but in this business you win some and you lose some. If it doesn't meet the reserve price it'll get parted out and the rest will be scrapped and I will get my money back. If you have parts needs e-mail me and if it doesn't sell we'll discuss your needs. I will NOT part it out before the auction ends. I have been buying and selling cars since I was 14 and at 52 I still enjoy the hobby. I fix some, I keep some, and I sell some. I come across a lot of cool old American iron and this is a great example. I have a really solid '47 Chevy farm truck for sale. Rated at 13,000 GVW with an inline 216 six and two speed rear, it's the Loadmaster model. This came off a farm locally and has been sitting for a very long time. It shows just 60,609 on the odometer and the last PA inspection reads 3/98. The good is the truck is solid and complete right down to the factory screw jack under the seat and the spare tire hung on the factory hanger in the rear. The cab corners are solid as are the bottoms of the doors and floors. The only areas thin are the right floor and that area is small, only about 4" in diameter so it's an easy fix. The bottoms of the doors on the inside are thin but not bad at all. One area on the right front fender at the front bottom lip but that's it. The orignal color was Windsor blue color and you can still make out the pinstripe that was put on at the factory. Now for the bad; the engine won't turn so I don't know if it's siezed or if the clutch is stuck to the pressure plate but it isn't turning over. Yesterday I pulled the plugs and filled it with a 50/50 mix of acetone and tranny fluid to see if she'll free up. Aside from that it's a really great starter project and is deserving of a restoration or fix enough to use some more on the farm. The truck will roll for loading and is short of 22' long overall and from bumper to the back of the rear wheels is about 18 feet, the rear wheels measure right at 80" from outside sidewall to outside sidewall and the wheelbase is 161". In decoding the VIN on this truck I show an error on the listing, I want the potential buyers to be well informed so note the PA title shows the truck as a 1948 but the VIN denotes it as being a 1947. Back in the day Pennsylvania was very lax on how they registered vehicles. The serial number (VIN) is as follows - 14QK-H 1336 or 1836. It breaks down this way; 14 = Baltimore assembly plant and QK = 161" wheelbase 4400 model 1 1/2 ton, not a two ton truck. H = build date of August of '47 (so it is a '47) and finally the last four numbers are the build sequence of the truck, so starting at 1001 this truck would have been #1835 in sequence of build at that plant. Once you bid don't cancel on me, this seems to happen a lot here on ebay, either kids or clowns that think this is a game. You have to pay a fee to advertise here so don't waste my time or money please. The truck can sit here for no more than 90 days from the end of the auction, no exceptions unless we work something else out after we speak. A deposit of $500 is due at the auctions end and the balance due within 24 hours, no exceptions can be made and if the buyer fails to follow through within that first 24 hours I will relist it. I will answer intelligent questions but not stupid ones such as "Does it run or can I drive it home?" Read the ad, most anything you need to know to make an intelligent buying decision is already in the ad. If it isn't don't hesitate to ask. Good clear title in my name in hand and ready for transfer to the new owner. Good luck and happy bidding.
