Vehicle Detail
A rust free, great running really cool vanagon with a stealth tin roof camper conversion. Has a profesionally installed TIICO engine conversion using the powerfull and super reliable VW Jetta 2.0 engine for lots of smooth power and a real heater and defroster as the Jetta engine is water cooled. Air Conditioned! Prior owner stated it just needs a charge. Power windows ( the switches were relocated to the dash), new front and dash wireing harness, a '90 tranny , a couple of new windows, fresh paint job. Aluminum rims with very good tires. Very good brakes. The only thing I would replace is the Westy fridge with a Truck Fridge FR 45 if you want to keep things really cold or make ice, the westy fridge will only cool things to 20 degrees below ambiant air temperature. The near useless propane part of the fridge was left out as I was going to install a true fridge in it, the westy fridge is powered by either 12 volts or the shore line 120 volt hookup which is being installed. Exact milage is unknown as the speedohead has been replaced. Starts right up, drives and runs good for a 25 year old van. We recently purchased this VW van with the aim of adding the Westy camper stuff in order to camp out on land we purchased only to find out there's a single wide already on the property so we no longer need this camper. The van/camper conversion was preferred over the factory camper, Ive had two of those and didn't like the way they were set up and the way they handled. The van is still in the shop for the westy camper conversion stuff and will be availalble soon , probably by the time this listing ends. I've already paid for all the westy camper converstion stuff and for the installation, my loss is your gain. dean 505-414-0617 On Dec-01-12 at 17:18:59 PST, seller added the following information: Im listing the answers to the many questions I have recieved: 1. The van was originally a Eurovan Weekender, 2 rear facing seats, fold up table and fold down bed. A 1983 westy was the donor of all the parts for the conversion. 2. the conversion consists of removing all the weekender stuff and installing the side-by-side sink/stove/fridge cabinet and the storage cabinet that butts up to it. The rear cabinet was not installed as it would have had to have been cutup in order to clear the a/c ducts. only a shoreline port is being installed. 3. A westy fold down bed was installed because of the side-by-side cabinets, the full size rear cushion was retained 4. the TIICO conversion was done 7 or 8 years ago. a 2.0 Jetta engine with 1,8 head was used. No vibrations, the mounts are all good and the rear cover lid closes flat 5. mileage showing is 155751 . this is on the replacement speedo head which was installed prior to my buying the van. 6. the transmission is a 1990 which was installed with the TIICO conversion 7, In the short time Ive had the van it has run and driven well, in fact it handles much better then the heavier westy campers Ive had in the past.On Dec-01-12 at 17:32:22 PST, seller added the following information: VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT shows 2 prior owners. the only report is the broken odometer, there are no accidents, thefts, water damage, fire damage, grey market titles, abandoned titles, hail damage, insurance loss, junk or scrapping report, salvage title, frame body damage reports, recycling reports. The odometer was replaced in feb 2012 with a high mileage junkyard odometer which shortly failed and again in march 2012 with a different one that is currently in the van.
