Vehicle Detail

***UPDATED DECEMBER 3 -- PICTURES OF CAR WITH TOP UP AND UNDERSIDE *** I've added pictures of the car with the top up and some pictures of the underside. This car does NOT need anything other than a small patch in the passenger side rear floor. The arches are good and this car is substantially rust-free. I encourage bidders to send your buyer's agents or appraisers, or come yourselves, to inspect the car. You will not be disappointed! See the album below: Pictures of parts *** NOW UPDATED WITH PICTURES OF PARTS, INCLUDING NEW CHROME *** For sale: 1953 Hudson Hornet convertible I purchased this very rare car from a well-known Hudson collector in the Pacific Northwest. This was the star of his collection and he only sold this car because he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and would not be able to restore it. The car runs and drives, but needs full restoration. The top mechanism is complete but the hydraulics for the power windows and convertible top need to be rebuilt. The engine and transmission were rebuilt by the previous owner, so this car runs well. I have driven perhaps fifty miles on this car while I have had it, in order to keep it running. The car is originally a black car with blue and white interior. The red leather seats are from another convertible. The car will require a floorpan patch in the passenger side rear. The exhaust manifold also has a small crack which should be welded. The windshield wipers work correctly. Overall, this car is as straight as an arrow and will be an easy restoration. As I said, the car runs and drives and it is a much better car to drive than contemporary cars of other makes I have driven. The car comes with many spares, including new emblems, fresh chrome, freshly polished stainless, NOS window switches, etc. I am selling this car because I will not be able to restore it for some time and would prefer that it go to another interested collector who can give it the attention it deserves. There are only a handful of known survivor 1953 Hornet convertibles, so this car is rare indeed. I have added videos of the car driving: http://youtu.be/t9RrvhVN0FY http://youtu.be/lj3FrQLHKuw UPDATE: Here are pictures of most of the parts which come with the car. There are a number of things like sill plates, small springs, blockoffs, cables, etc. which I did not photograph but which also go with the car. Please note that this car comes with a freshly professionally polished and straightened set of stainless as well as a number of rechromed parts. You will see this in the photos. In the last auction, I had several people call and ask me to sell the chrome, top frame, etc. separately from the car. Thank you for your kind offers but I do not wish to separate the parts. Pictures of parts Thanks!
