Vehicle Detail

Let me preface this description with...Do not buy this car if you are not interested in spending ridiculous amounts of time fixing things, its British! That being said, Im selling this MG midget. I love this car, I really do, but its gotta go. I have a lat fifties Fairlane Hotrod and a stock 51 hudson. I am in no way ready for this british car. I bought it a little over a year ago from an Uncle, who I gave $3K for it. It was worth more, so I had no problem. Sight unseen, my wife saw a pic and she wanted it. Drove it home, the brakes were awful the tranny was loud. I bought a rebuilt tranny, and it will go with the car, ill even wrap it so you dont get dirty. I have a friend who specializes in british and swedish imports so I didnt hesitate to have him do some repairs. He installed a new master cyclinder. Awesome! im driving, but not for long, because the rear wheel cylinders started leaking so back to the shop for new rear pads and cylinders...Sweet Im driving again. No wait, not so fast, now the drive shaft came away from the tranny! back to the shop, fixed. Nice, wait, is that gas I smell? yes, the new tank is leaking, so back to the shop for a vacuum sealing of th tank and a new sending unit. Awesome, so a week of great driving and the dizzy goes bad...Nice. Source a used one, fixed. driving again!A month goes by of really good fun, the gas gauge stops working, it gets 27 mpg, ill just watch the OD. She is starting to run bad....skipping. On the way home from work, the headgasket lets go...suweeeet! Get it towed. couple weeks later, the manifold is planed, got a major tune up, new Tstat. Runs like a top. Caught a second!Wow, this is really fun. I take back all the stuff I have been saying for the last year!On the way home from Turkey day dinner, she started running a little warm. Hmmmmm. The new Tstat was not opening....ok, side of the road repair, yanked it, cursed it, kicked it into the woods. this whole week its been AWESOME.Water pump started leaking yesterday. Im done with it. Have at it. A guy on the MG forum summed it up best..."Replace everything on the car, I can promise it will be reliable for 6 months"So here it is, all yours. The paint has a few cracks and nicks, but is beautiful. The tires have great tread. has a roll bar, no radio.brakes still suck, flasher doesnt work so I manually use the blinkers. new wipers, they still suck.one brake light is out, even though the bulb is good, shocker. top is in awesome shape, aside from a very small tear on the out side of the driver window, doesnt leak.Has the WEBER down draft conversion, bored 30 over, crank ten over, runs great. has electric fuel pump and a fan that was never hooked up, but I tested it and it works really well.Im sure im forget 6 million other things, but you should ask specific questions about the car and I will answer them or send more pics of specific areas. I have not found any rust through just some small surface spots. This MG is in really great shape and handles unbelievably well. Its an absolute blast to drive. Not an absolute blast to fix. Im not gonna lie, its my first Brit car, and for sure.....My last. Feel free to come drive it. I have been using it as a DD 100 mile trip everyday. Its only let me down a couple times...but those times led to another dozen repairs....so, I love the car, but its not for me. Have a great day, check out all the pics, and watch videos. On Nov-27-12 at 05:35:19 PST, seller added the following information: Yes I have both Headrests and they are in great shape. No tears in the seats. The bubble on the paint in the pic is water, this paint has no bubbles in it. They are Minilites. It has red urethane front sway bar bushings. Vale cover is Alloy. Has an Alternator. Has an 8 gallon tank, but i have put over two hundred miles on a fill up and so the gas mileage is better than 25MPG. Spare IS good. Hood latch cable is loose, I open it from the front. I will get a list of extras that it comes with when I get home from work. On Nov-27-12 at 05:44:24 PST, seller added the following information: original steering wheel, no tears in it...Horn works. On Nov-27-12 at 10:25:39 PST, seller added the following information: PLEASE contact me if you have zero or minimal feedback so I dont cancel your bid. I have no intentions of relisting this due to a non paying low feedback member. I will cancel the bid no matter what the amount. thanks Scott
