Up for sale is an exceptional 72 Deluxe bus Safare custom camper. To start off, this is a super straight clean, dry bus. This bus was purchased new in California and it spent most of its life there until just a couple of years ago when it moved to north GA. As you can see in the pics, the condition of this bus speaks for itself. There is no evidence of any previous accident damage or questionable circumstances. All of the panels are original and straight. There has been no welding, and there doesnt need to be any. Aside from one repaint and maintenance items, this bus is original. Even the battery tray in this bus is solid. ALL of the floor sections, jack points etc. are original, solid and nice. The interior of the bus has generally not been altered since the Safare conversion in 1973- right down to the funky floor and green table. That being said, it is showing some wear, but, it is very very nice. All of the original interior panels are there and in nice shape. The original seats are nice, just as you would expect- The engine is the original 1.7 with dual solex carbs and was rebuilt several years ago. It has had a recent tune up, compression check and runs out good. The transmission doesnt grind, roar or pop out of gear. We recently had a new ernst muffler, tailpipe, new brake lines in the front, all 4 ball joints replaced, a new set of tires, and a new battery installed. The engine runs very strong with perfect compression and the bus has no problem running 65-70mph down the interstate. Over all, this is a super nice, rust free camper. Just like any other 40 year old vehicle, this one isnt perfect either... but, it is exceptional. As a matter of fact, I have had alot of VW buses over the years and this is the most solid example that Ive been around in years. Whats wrong with the bus?? Well, as you can see in the pics, the rear bumper is missing and we havent been able to find a replacement thats in nearly the same condition of the bus, so, it still doesnt have one. Even though the ball joints were just replaced, the front end hasnt been aligned and it has a little play in the steering just like any other bus Before you bid, PLEASE read this first!: I am listing this for a friend and fellow enthusiast.
