Start with a low mileage (43,889 mi) WS-6 Trans Am with factory T-Tops (CC1) and the 1SA Pkg in Black Sapphire Metallic (28U) with tan leather (522) with the Borg Warner 6-sp (MM6) and positraction (G80) 3.42 rear axle (GU6) and then take out the LS1 engine and spend $20k to replace it with a brand new, crate LS3 (New motor was installed approximately 9 months & 300 miles ago!) with an SLP intake and stainless headers and exhaust and you come away with about 460 HP, plus you then add a new set of chrome Corvette Z06 17" wheels circa 2001 and a new set of BF Goodrich rubber and you have truly built the Ultimate Trans AM you are now reviewing! It is one of 3 cars we recently acquired from a local collector. One of the other two is a 2005 SSR where the previous owner spent $25k it install a brand new LS7 427 plus another $5k on the heads, all done to a vehicle with less than 2300 miles on it, producing 560 HP to the rear wheels! The 3rd vehicle is a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra with 28k miles with a mere 603 HP to the rear wheels! All were done right, no issues with any of the vehicles. Back to the Trans AM. It runs absolutely silky smooth, no check engine lights, the vehicle passed emissions today, and it is simply stunning. The vehicle is extremely nice inside and out. It has everything! Power windows, locks, remote keyless, leather interior, the upgraded Monsoon stereo, 4 wheel power disc brakes, leather wrapped steering wheel and the factory Hurst shift knob. Clean CarFax, no evidence of any paintwork, inside and out this Trans Am is absolutely as fine as the drivetrain.
