Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1980 Honda CBX. I am the 2nd owner and have owned this bike for approximately 12 years. I bought the bike from a local Sheriff Deputy who was the original owner. After i bought the bike i rebuilt the front and rear brakes, had the carbs gone through and the valve adjusted by a local Honda Dealer. i also added tires and a fork brace. I had the bike repainted and re-pin stripped with the kit sold by the CBX club. I also had the tank acid dipped and had a pour in liner put in the gas tank because the bike had sat for 5yrs prior to me purchasing it. For those of you that are CBX Club members i am a former member (bigprogram) and am still on the UC list-serve. For those of you that are not old school CBX'r, Cafe Racers, etc. This is an out of the wrapper cafe racer from Mother Honda. You can google the "Cycle Magazine" article when Honda removed the veil and unleashed this bike. It was the Hyabusa of it's time. Honda created this bike to de-throne the Z1-R Kaw as the fastest production bike on the planet for model year 1979 (released in spring 78). I wanted a CBX since they were released when i was 11yrs old. I looked for one after i got married found this one in someone's garage by chance. The bike was not for sale, however i badgered the owner until he sold me the bike. The bike hasn't been started in a couple years and hasn't been actively ridden in probably six years. it has a pin hole in the right rear of the gas tank and couple resolved with a pour in liner or locating the pin hole and repairing. Due to the bike sitting so long it will probably need the carbs to be freshened up, the brake system will need to be inspected, etc. I don't have the time to put into getting the bike back into road ready condition, if i did i wouldn't be selling it. This bike needs to be ridden and i just don't have the time. To add insult to injury i have moved in from the heated storage building at my job to my garage where it sits next to my Harley, which is just wrong. Bid with confidence, but bid like you are serious. I didn't say that i was losing my home, or was in dire straits. I won't be just giving the bike away. For those of you that know what it is, it is priced accordingly. On Nov-20-12 at 18:26:55 PST, seller added the following information: I am adding a notice to bidders with less than a rating of (20) if you bid prior to contacting me via ebay and verifying that you are a viable buyer i will cancel your bids. No disrespect intended, however this forum used to be a place where honest sellers could connect with like minded buyers and sell items that they had a common interest in. Unfortunately today this is frequently a place for people to try and manipulate honest people. I don't want to waste my time and resources, i also don't want you to run a bid up on an honest buyer.
