Vehicle Detail
1969 Dodge Charger. No engine. The car has not operated since 1979, it was purchased by me in 1990 as a project car that was never completed. It originally came with a 318 but the original owner blew it and stored it in a barn (literally) for a decade or so in Kansas (it had a 1979 license plate on it when I bought it), the original owner sold it to a second owner who held on to it for a while and then sold it to me, I have had it in storage inside for over twenty years now. The odometer shows 38,155 but I would guess it has 138,155 miles. I bought a 440 engine and a transmission for it in 1990 but the engine was defective and I no longer have it. The car is all original, no "new paint" covering up bondo, what you see is what you get. Other than the engine it is missing the two hood turn signal lenses and the armrest on the driver's side, and the spring for the trunk, otherwise almost everything else is with it. The trunk is rusted, as is one side quarter panel, but generally solid all around, the frame has only surface rust (see photos of front and rear frame), the vinyl top has disintegrated as you can see. The hood has a dent in the front that looks like someone tried to move it in the garage with the hood up, there are a few small dents on the sides, the glass is all intact though it needs a b-body window crank on the driver's side. The headliner will need to be replaced, but the seats are in unabused (though old) shape other than the driver's seat, and the carpet, dashboard and other plastic parts seem to be there and mostly look very good other than being dirty from sitting in a barn for some time, the original owner installed speakers in the back window area. I have the original power steering pump, a driveshaft, a transmission mount, a radiator and two motor mounts I picked up from 1969 model Chargers, and the transmission, a starter, an alternator and various other parts that came with the 440 I bought. I also have a set of Dodge rally rims and a re-manufactured Carter 1969-model 4-bbl carburetor that go with the car. I replaced all of the brake shoes, turned the brake drums, and had the radiator tanked and painted in 1990. The car is squatting down in the back because all the engine parts and the transmission were in the trunk when I took the photos. The car is in a rural location in central Illinois and can be seen at any time, I will need full payment through a bank-to-bank transfer before anyone takes it away. I am not interested in trades for other cars or parts of other cars, and I will not be setting a "buy it now" price, it will go through the full auction. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. Cell phone service is spotty here so please communicate through ebay.
