Vehicle Detail
VIN 9112510433. ENGINE 6520396. PAINT CODE 117 (Light Yellow) HISTORY The car is a original European model. Brought by a U S Army captain while stationed in Germany. He shipped the car to the USA in 1984. There is a export sticker showing the owners name and date of export. From what I can tell the only difference from US models is the carburetors and the kilometer speedometer versus a MPH version. He then sold the car to a police officer from Ohio in 1994. The car was then sold to a man from Alabama in 2001, for his son to drive. Son never drove car, and it was garaged for the last 11 years. The car is the one model year only of having the outside oil filler on the passenger side. Some Porsche collectors call this the rarest of the old vintage 911 models and can bring more money in the collectible world. CONDITION The car was originally light yellow (paint code 117). It's been painted white with a after market RS front air dam. The targa top is good for 42 years, very original but could be recovered. The dash is original and excellent, no cracks and a good speaker cover very rare for a 42 year old car. All gauges are factory and the speedometer is in kilometers being a European model. It is documented at 97,000 kilometers about 66,000 miles. The car has replaced seats (Recarro) , radio and steering wheel. The paint looks good at about 10 feet. The car does has some rust in both longitudes or outer rocker panels. The pans are very solid with no rust. Front area and battery boxes are rust free. All trim seems present and correct. The engine is a Euro specification, matching number to the VIN. European cars are great because they still had carburetors, this car has the factory Zeniths. The US cars in 1972 had a MFI. A system which is much more complicated and harder to keep in tune. The last owner drove the car only 6 months before he stored it in 2001, always in a covered heated space. It ran very good, brakes fine, clutch and transmission good. But will need to be serviced because of old gas left in car. The car is equipped with Fuchs wheels. From what I can tell they are factory wheels painted white with painted Porsche crests center caps. For the Porsche experts the wheels are the "heart" type and are "deep dish" 15 x 6. The tires are all matching new Kelley brand. CONDITION OF SALE A deposit of $1000 dollars must be paid to Paypal within 48 hours of auction closing. The deposit is NOT REFUNDABLE.
