58,557 miles, original, 99% complete (everything there except exterior emblems that are reproduced), dry western car with straight undamaged metal. THIS IS THE CAR you have been looking to build! Buy this one, or buy a crappy one that looks good for the pictures with rust, and end up spending thousands more in metal replacement, body work and trim straightening and polishing. Don’t be misled by the lousy brown paint! Bottom of the car looks better then the top,. All structure and floors/trunk excellent, just “sand blasted” and surface rust from spending time on gravel roads. The brown paint was very poorly applied over the original off-white with NO evidence of body work. It’s like looking at an original paint car, the couple small body issues are clearly visible, no surprises. There is a dent in the driver’s side front corner of the hood, and a couple small holes punched in the right rear quarter where a very misguided individual attached a whip antenna. The driver’s side front fender has a very small dent on the top, and a little bit of rust in the lower rear corner, which is surprising since the right is perfect and no other indication of rust anywhere. The rust free, mint fender skirts fit in the rust free rear wheel openings as original. NO typical bubbling around the rear wheel well openings indicating rust coming through from the inside. The side trim is mint, doesn’t just look good for the pictures, never been off the car. The right front gunsite is mint, the left is very good with a slight imperfection on the inside front corner that can be carefully straightened to be mint, almost not worthy of mentioning unless you are a Cadillac nut like me that likes to look at the gunsites with a magnifying glass! Bumpers are rock solid. This is a Coupe de Ville (not just a series 62) with AC. The car has been stored many years inside a building. Several things with the car didn’t make it in the pictures: drivers door pull, headlight bezels, rear lock cylinder, keys. The previous owner had pulled the driver’s door panel off to fix the driver’s door glass, but never finished the project. The original door panel and rear seat bottom were lost, but as you see in the pictures, I found replacements. The title matches the VIN number on the driver’s side front frame horn. As is common, the plastic, oil change, engine (VIN) plate, located on the rear drivers door jam is broken and missing, but is available reproduction from McVey’s for $29.99. The Aluminum cowl/body tag is in excellent shape. I tried to turn the engine over by hand, but could not. I was told that it was running when parked many years ago, which makes sense, because they stopped driving the car to replace drivers door glass, but then the replacement was abandoned and the car was not driven again. But obviously cannot guarantee the status of the motor. Look the pictures over, and then contact me if you have any questions or need more pictures.
