Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1962 CB77 Super Hawk. I picked this bike up several years ago and just recently got it running in order to sell. The last time bike was on the road was in the late 1980s. The frame number is CB77-21905 and engine CB77-211905. A numbers matching motor and frame is an anomaly. Before I get a barrage of e-mails telling me this is impossible and something must have been restamped, save your breath and fingers. Do I think this makes the bike worth more- NO. Am I saying this makes the bike special- NO. Someone chromed several parts probably in the 1960s. This bike has the right 1962 parts on it. Short tail light lense, short rear brake pedal, speedo/tach unit without the high beam light (it even has the tab for the early spring mount bucket). Correct round bowl carbs. I put a NOS headlight bucket switch on with the correct black vinyl wire loom. I also put a NOS left hand Hi/Low horn switch. I also put NOS A and B brake arms on the rear backing plate. I also disassembled both backing plates and cleaned and re-greased the pivots/cams. I cleaned the carbs, put on new air filters, rebuilt the fuel valve, adjusted the valves, changed the oil, adjusted the points and put in a new AGM battery. Bike fired right up. After over 20 years of dormancy the bike smokes a bit. The rings may seat with further use. When I bought the bike I was told it was "hopped up" back in the day with a performance cam and springs. When I adjusted the tappets I noticed the valve spring top caps were a violet color and not stock, so I believe it at least has performance springs in it. Bike also has CYB "D" shaped megaphones I put on a new drive chain and put new wheel bearings front and rear as well as new tires and tubes. New seat cover over the original foam. Clear Indiana title in my name and miles are documented as actual.. In case the video does not embed you can go here for a video of the bike running http://youtu.be/rDOCWGxdAao http://youtu.be/5it1YxNH_Xs The bike really howls through those megaphones going down the road. Bike is sold as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied. A $250 non-refundable deposit through PayPal shall be made within 48 hours close of auction or immediately if using the "Buy-It-Now". Balance must be paid for within 7 days close of auction via cash on pickup, bank to bank wire transfer or certified bank check. Cash or wire transfer releases the bike and title immediately.
