Vehicle Detail
This is an estate sale. The car was purchased from the original owner in 1996 with 149,775 miles and was garage-kept throughout most of the past 16 years. A detailed record of fuel fill-ups, mileage, and maintenance was kept during this time period. It was never in an accident. Please note the AutoCheck score of 57 vs. the "within range" values of 15 - 36 for this class of vehicle. Recent maintenance included:new Michelin X Radial tires, balance, and valve stems were installed at 188755 milesoil change at 188,100 miles (records show oil was changed every 4,000 miles; FRAM #2930; Castrol 10W-40)replaced fuel injector seals, valve cover gasket, belts, hoses, & antifreeze at 186214 miles Power windows, power seats, power sunroof, power radio antenna, power side mirror, and cruise control work properly. The power door/trunk locks function properly (when you lock/unlock the driver door with the key, all other locks automatically lock/unlock also). There is a factory-installed engine block heater for engine start on cold days. The plug has been replaced. I did verify that this works. The car drives straight and the brakes work well. Oil pressure goes to the maximum gauge reading. I drove the car 109 miles this week using 3.37 gallons of diesel - 32.3 miles per gallon! The paint and interior are in pretty good shape considering the car's age. See pictures showing the two worst areas of rust: right side bottom of car behind front wheel (left side looks okay) & a spot on the right rear wheel well). Also, the plastic around the right headlight is broken. The center arm rest is the most worn part of the interior. The front seats were protected by seat covers for the past 16 years. There are no tears in any of the seats. The Alpine stereo w/cd player works properly. Known issues:AC has not worked for several years. I don't know if this is a simple re-charge or not.Clock does not workThere is an oil leak that looks like it's coming from the oil pan and not the valve cover. This leak has become less with the car being driven more often recently.Transmission shifting is a bit klunky when accelerating slowly, but not when accelerating quickly (due to vacuum switches?).When the heater fan is turned on high, it blows a fuse. If you keep the fan on low, the heat works very well. The rear end gears sing a bit around 40mph, but are quiet at highway speeds. The car is titled & registered in Maryland. Please email me if you have questions or if you would like to see additional pictures.
