RE-LIST UPDATE - LOWER RESERVE AND LOWER BUY-IT-NOW PRICE: I am re-listing our car with a lower reserve and buy-it-now price. I've also updated the description to include answers to questions asked by people viewing the previous auction. In preparation for sale, we had the car inspected this past weekend, 10/27/2012, and it passed its MA inspection. Please feel free to ask me any questions. DESCRIPTION: Up for sale is my parent’s 2000 Honda Insight which they’ve decided to sell after buying a Yaris. The Insight is a 5-speed manual transmission (stick) with only 78,800 miles! The car is registered in Massachusetts and has a clean title. We are the second owners of the car. We have the complete service records including from the previous owner, and a CAR FAX from when we bought it, all of which will be included with the sale. If you’re considering a Honda Insight, you probably already know that these cars get great gas mileage. This car gets somewhere between 45-60 miles per gallon depending on whether its city or highway driving. The battery in this car is original and still holds charge well. The car also just had 4 new all-weather tires installed (National Tire), which you can see in the pictures. All of the electronic controls work, including power mirrors, and A/C There are some paint scrapes on the front and rear bumpers, and a scuff or two on the side, about typical for a 12 year old car that’s been parked on Cambridge streets. I have had estimates to touch up the bumpers and buff out the scuffs for a few hundred dollars, so it’d be a relatively cheap, and easy fix. There are also some stains on the interior carpeting. Looking beyond some cosmetic issues, this is a mechanically sound, low mileage car that has a lot of life left in it. Bottom line: If you are looking for a reliable car, that gets better gas mileage than any other car on the road, this is it. Please understand that you, the buyer, will be completely responsible for arranging shipping. I’ll drive it to a drop off point, or wait for a truck to come to my house, but it’s on you to arrange for shipping, if that’s what you choose to do. There are a lot of helpful tools on eBay and the web that. Please use a licensed and insured shipper. It has never been on while we've had the car. The battery holds its charge well.
