Vehicle Detail

Our Civic needs too much work to make it worth it for us to keep it. We did these things to it: Miller Honda installed a new Windshield Wiper switch. When that didn't make it work on intermittent we put a new Windshield wiper motor in. Then the wiper arms were bent so we put another set on. And after doing all this we had a new windshield put in. Pep Boys did a terrible job putting struts on this car. A strut broke and then we took it to Goodyear for two new struts. We had Charlie's Auto put a used engine in and it has only about 150,000 miles on it. We've also replaced the brake booster and brake master cylinder and installed a new muffler. Tires have about 15,000 miles on them. When I had the tires put on the shop told me I had a right front broken axle. I had a new one installed. The car has wheels on them. I was told by the previous owner they are focus wheels. Regular oil changes (every 4-5,000 miles, with partial synthetic, though there has been some loss of oil--it typically is low when we do the oil change) There has been a continual problem with the brakes. Sometimes there is a lack of pressure in the system (i.e., I have to pump the brakes a bit to get the pressure back in the system. Though the the booster tests out fine and we've replaced the master cylinder, twice. My husband is the primary driver of this car. Here is the summary of what needs to be fixed. We're selling it because it won't pass VA state inspection without a substantial amount of work (which I don't have the equipment/tools/expertise to perform myself). This list is from Koons Honda in Manassas, VA (total cost, about $4000, which is more than we care to spend on such an old vehicle): - Original exhaust system was replaced by previous owner; there is oil leakage at the manifold gasket (very minor) and the non-original pipes don't fit exactly--therefore the rear passenger side brake line contacts the exhaust system (Koons wants $2700 for a complete replacement, since the parts there now aren't Honda and they won't custom build an exhaust system) - The driver side rear trailing arm bushing is torn and the pair should be replaced ($450) - The front strut forks were mounted backwards (driver side piece on passenger side of car and vice versa) ($365) - The left side outer CV boot is torn and needs the axle ($280) - Once the suspension parts are replaced, an alignment is required ($90) Note that my experience is that the vehicle drives well, and other than replacing the engine, I've had minimal trouble with it.The title is in my name and it is clear and in my possession. I took a picture of the dash when the car was running and no lights are on. The paint is pretty nice. There are several dings on the car from acorns dropping on it. I spray painted the front left fender because he either ran into something or something ran into him. There is a scrape on the left side, and chips on several areas of the car. There are no big dents. I bought this on ebay a couple years ago from a guy who said he was a mechanic. Look at the pictures. My husband hit a deer about a month a go and it smashed the left headlight. We bought two on ebay and installed them. It has a high flow air filter. All power options work. Interior is good no rips or tears. In the trunk it looks like a previous owner had a sound system that was taken out. AC and Heat works.I have 4 new struts for the car and another brake booster. I may include them with the car if I get a decent price for the car. There is no warranty on the car. It is sold AS IS. I will include a bill of sale that states this.It is drive able, my husband had been driving it about 100 miles a day to work until he got the Reject sticker for the inspection. You can drive it home. Please ask all questions before you bid. Winner picks up the car or if shipping is arranged I must have payment before car leaves.I did not know what to start the bidding at, but I do know the tires and wheels alone are worth $400. No Reserve Auction. Please don't ask me end the auction early, I will not. Highest Bidder Wins. Thanks for looking at my auction. On Nov-07-12 at 05:20:55 PST, seller added the following information: They have Honda Fit wheels. Please email me with any questions or if you would like to see more pictures of the car.On Nov-09-12 at 09:40:03 PST, seller added the following information: I filled the quota of 24 pictures including the interior and engine. On Nov-11-12 at 13:01:38 PST, seller added the following information: A couple things I remembered. - almost right after we purchased the vehicle I bought slotted brake rotors for the front off of Ebay. My husband and I were able to install one of them. The other one would not budge for us so we had NTB take it off and install the other one. I think we put on new brakes too. - the gentleman who we bought the car from said that he had put new engine mounts on.
