Vehicle Detail
Before we go any further let it be known that there is "NO TITLE !!!!!This car is sold on a "BILL OF SALE" !!!This sale is for a 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS. It is a real SS car with a 138 Vin #. In general, the car is mostly solid and is very restorable. It is incomplete and does "NOT" have a motor or trans. It will need a complete & serious restoration, but for those who know how, it should not present too much of a problem. What you see in the pics is what you will get !! I have however, removed the front and rear windshields since the pictures were taken. I will list all the good and bad and terrible points about the car so there are no surprises.THE GOOD !As far as rust goes, yes it has it !! But overall it is a very solid body. I will list the worst spots in the bad & terrible. The car came out of a Texas field were it sat for many years unattended. It has surface rust, however it is not embedded or crusty. The car is not soft or weak from surface rust, and has very solid panels to work with. Most of the hard to repair places are rock solid such as - Door jams/Hindge areas/Rocker structure in and out/Frame/Trunk drops/Trunk weatherstrip channels/Trunk & hood lips & edges/Firewall area/Inside flooring/Door bottoms & edges/Roof/Rear wheel well area/etc. The car still has its original paint on it so there are no hidden surprises or anything covered up. What you see is what you have to work with. (front clip came from another car but is just as solid). Its ugly and has bumps & bruises, but definitly worth restoring. After you read all the bad things, I will list more Great things about what the car has.THE BAD !1/4 panels will need minimum patchs behind the wheels at very bottom !Same for the lower front fenders!Hood is starting to show small rust bubbles on the top side only (main structure is solid)Trunk floor will need to be replaced !No engine or Transmission !Some trim parts missing !Has a few dents, but nothing serious enough to replace a panel !NO TITLE !!!!!THE TERRIBLE !The rear window channel area and the metal dash are the worst rusted areas. The rear window channel seemed ok till I took out the glass and found the inside all rusted away on the bottom ledge and partially up the sides. Also some of the metal package tray has rotted away. Its repairable, with a rear window panel and some patching along the side channel, it will be ok. Good news is that most of this is hidden when the glass & mouldings go back on.The Front window channel is not as bad as the rear, but part of the top of the dash has rotted away and should be replaced. In my estimation it would be better and easier to just replace the whole metal portion of the dash than try to repair it. However it can be repaired, and here again a padded dash cover would hide most of the repairs. If your familiar with these Chevelles, then you already know that it is almost impossible to find one that doesn't have any rot around the window openings. GOOD NEWS BONUS !!This was an original 327 - 4speed car and following is a list of things that are still with the car and included in the sale;Has the original 12 bolt rear end (non posi)Has the guage pac instrument cluster (no tach)Has the 4speed pedals & a "rough" 4speed consoleHas the original 4speed steering columnHas the original bucket seats (good solid frames) & rear seat (springs only)All glass is present and in good cond (front windshield is missing)Has a 3/8" gasline which suggests the engine was at least a 300hp - and as a footnote & not meant to be acturate - this frame has 2 extra braces at the back hump on eack side which I'm led to believe was only installed on L79 & Z16 cars. I know for sure it was not a Z16, but its possible it could have been a L79 (350hp). Anyway do your own research on that one.Last chapter folks !Everyone here knows the rules, wether thay obey them or not !! So make yourself a responcible bidder and save me from writing all the rules !!Please ask questions if you are in doubt about anything. Do not assume anything !!Extra pictures will be sent on request (include email address).I will expect a deposit within 24 hrs after end of sale !!Contact me within 24 hrs of your purchase to let me know your intentions about balance of payment & pickup time !!THANKS & GOOD LUCK
