I bought this for my Daughter in '04. Everything was fine up until about 2 years ago. VW said it was a different component each time, since my code reader does not read the correct codes. After a year of back and forth VW finally said it was the ECM. I bought a ECM, the correct one and now VW wants $800 more to reprogram the car. I have spent my last cent with VW. So I am selling it where it sits. It has a 1.8L Turbo engine, and Trans Axle either one is more than the opening bid by its self. The body is in excellent condition, all glass is good, Leather Seats and interior and 6 disk CD changer and all the bells and whistles. All for parts or if you can figure out VW's electronics the new computer is there. This car does not run. It will only crank and then die. I am told that the car has to be reprogramed to run but like I said I have given VW my last cent I will ever give. As I said this is not a shade tree mechanic, which Ithink I am one, project unless you have afriend a VW. It has not been flooded or in water and is not wrecked this is a Clean Alabama Title. Since it is not running it will have to be towed. If you are a VW mechanic, I have the other ECM maybe you have the patience to fix it and have a deal but I know what the parts are worth and they are good so my opening bid is a fair price.
