2000 Nissan Maxima SE88k mi from newexcellent mechanically and electricallyrusted through rockers and driver's door back corner This car has been serviced regularly and runs out very smooth and strong. If you haven't driven one of these you'd swear it had a turbo in it except the power comes on immediately and steadily. It's definitely got it's full 220 hp working for it. It starts, runs and shifts fine, runs out well, charging and electric system are good and accessories are working normally including cold AC. We had it on the lift for the pictures and gave it a once over including an oil change. The car can be driven anywhere. The rocker's are rusted thorough pretty much completely on both sides. You can see some rust popping through the rocker area on the photo of the left side as well as around the wheel well. A good fix of this car would take a determined body man. I'd think this one would be better just to drive out till she drops--I do see a lot of them out there with 200k miles and up. The rockers are rusted through as is the driver's lower rear door corner. The suspension mounting sections show rust but are solid structurally (at least they survived our ball peen hammer test). The unibody structure is solid enough that the door line gaps are good and there's no evident body sag. The passenger door is clean as is the front clip. The body is in pretty nice shape including the plastic front and rear, all glass is good including the un-nicked windshield, window motors work, mirrors are good. The car could be safely driven for some time or would be a great parts source for a high mileage example with a more solid chassis.
