Vehicle Detail
Important - this is a PARTS CAR - It is NOT drive-able and must be towed You are bidding on a running 1994 Jaguar XJ6 (aka XJ40) parts car. This was my daily driver until two weeks ago when it took a very hard hit to the passenger side front wheel. You can see the damage to the wheel in one of the pictures, but there is also significant suspension damage to the right front, hence why I am selling. There was no body damage at all from this accident so the panels are all usable although there is some minor bubbling of the paint in a couple of places. As with most XJ40s of this vintage, there are things wrong with it:Both the passenger windows do not work. They failed at the same time and I replaced the drivers window module so I presume this is the common ground in the trunk (never got around to tracking this down)Runs a little rough when cold but smooths out nicely after a few minutesBlows some blue smoke when you start it cold, but not while running (probably the valve stem seals)Oil pressure goes low at idle when hotHeadliner is sagging in the backAssorted broken trim pieces (all the usual places)Small crack in the windshield (about 3 in long - its at the top behind the mirror - can't be seen in the pics, but it's there)The A/C works but has a slow leakFront passenger door handle is broken. You can see it is removed in the pic, but it is in the car so have the lockThe lock for the trunk does not match the doorsInterior is average for an XJ40 - wear in all the usual places. The seats are actually from my old 93 Sovereign so are better leather than the ones on the base 94Ok, there's some good stuff too:Like I said, this was my daily driver - very reliable car before the accidentTransmission shifts well, but keep in mind, it has 139k miles on itWhen warm the car runs well and smooth. The rear springs, shocks and insulators are new (maybe 1000 miles on them)The passenger side blower motor is new (put in this summer). I should note that this motor is from my old '93 and although the motors themselves were the same between 93 and 94 the electrical connectors were different so I spliced the 94 connectors onto the 93 motor. Works great, but obviously non-standardThe MAF and crank sensor are about a year oldThe spare is on the car now, so have a full set of four wheels in good condition. As far as I can tell, this is what the front suspension damage is (might be worse but definitely not better):Both upper and lower control arms are bentInner tie rod, but the whole rack may need to be replaced - I didn't pull the boot to lookWheel hubBoth upper and lower ball jointsSway barFront crossmember is cracked and bentShock tower is warpedIf you look close at the picture, you can see how far back the wheel is pushed back - it is rubbing against the wheel wellBottom line - if you need some body panels, interior pieces, an extra engine or trans then this is a great deal for spares. The value of the shocks, springs and blower motor exceed the BiN.
