Vehicle Detail
This 1986 Suzuki Samurai JX is an original, unmolested, 45,663 mile example in amazing condition. It still has its original paint and interior and has never been in an accident. I bought the Suzuki in July of 1995 from the original, middle-aged, lady owner. I am now 60 years old so the Samurai has never been owned by kids or off-roaded and abused as so many of these vehicles have been. I purchased the Suzuki in Southern California and took it to my home in Arizona so it is completely rust-free. Since it has always been garaged and carefully maintained, it looks and drives as close to new as you are likely to find. This Samurai is the top of the line JX model which gave you the tachometer, clock, deluxe seats, fold flat rear seat, carpeting, deluxe door panels, exterior striping and so on. In addition, this truck has factory air conditioning which works great and is pretty hard to find on these vehicles. The original AM/FM cassette radio was upgraded to a Sony unit (fits in the factory box) and the top was recently replaced with a new BesTop unit. The truck still has the original Bridgestone spare but the tires were replaced some years back with Goodyears' in the correct 205-70-15 size. Other than that, (and the battery and the air and oil filters), everything else is original Suzuki parts. The only thing that I am aware of that could be done at some point is to replace the two distributor O-rings since, like most Samurais, they have gotten old and will leak some oil. I have the O-rings but just never found the time to replace them. In my younger days, I have owned Jeep CJ's and International Scouts and did some moderate off-roading. Although I never did use the Samurai off road, I was impressed by its design. Being smaller and narrower than the others, it will go places they won't. It has over 8" of ground clearance, a 16.7' turning radius, and the vents, electrical wiring and air intake are placed up high for water crossings. In addition, the approach and departure angles are designed for rough going. All in all, a pretty impressive off road design. Even though the Samurai is small, I was surprised to find that my 6'4" body was comfortable in it. There is also about 16 cu. ft. of space in the back when you fold up the rear seat and about 18 cu. ft. when you remove it. The Suzuki only weighs about 2000 lbs. so it gets great gas mileage and it is easy to tow behind a motorhome (all four wheels can be on the ground) if you desire. The Samurai is located in Payson, Arizona, (zip 85541) which is about 75 miles northeast of metro Phoenix. I have never advertised it for sale locally but if bidding is sluggish I reserve the right to do so and may end the auction early. Please don't wait until the last minute to bid to avoid the disappointment of finding the auction closed. I will help in any way I can in getting the Suzuki shipped to you. For example, a friend of mine is a shipper who has very reasonable rates for the western U.S. and I can put potential buyers in touch with him. Please note that although I have done my best to accurately describe the Samurai, there may be some little blemishes that are not visible in the photos so the vehicle is, of course, sold as-is with no warranty. I hate to sell my Samurai but I am just not using it. Other than taking it out occasionally to keep it fresh, it just sits in my garage. This Suzuki is the nicest one I have ever seen and I get compliments on it whenever I do take it out. I hope that the new owner continues the pride of ownership that I and the original owner have given it and preserves this Samurai for years to come. Please feel free to email or call me with any questions you may have. My phone number is 928-468-7060 with afternoons and evenings being the best time to reach me. Thanks for looking!
