Vehicle Detail

This a a GREAT and rare restoration project. This is not just a 1970 442 (a real 442, not a cutlass) It is also a Lansing Built M Code used for export. It was delivered new in Switzerland in late 1969 through GM. This car is in my possession since 1988. I owned it in Europe (Switzerland) brought it over to California in 1992 and is in WA State since 2001. It was never driven since early nineties. This car has very rare options. It has a 2.56 POSI, they called the 2.56 to 1 ratio, the express way package. It will go very fast. You can have it in second gear up to about 90 miles per hour and then still shift in third. And even with this rear end you can put about 100ft of rubber to the asphalt or more. I had this car up to 143 miles per hour on the german autobahn in the eighties, when I lived in Europe. This car has AC (not working) power windows, and I think even power door locks. It has remote trunk and hood lock (not working). The car can be started with gas through carb. Gas in fuel tank is from 1992. Everything is matching exept the engine is from a 71-442, that I owned myself. This 71 motor is from a real 442 with the big valves. It was changed due to better driveability of gasoline early on. When was the last time you saw a 442 with 4 power windows ??? That is real rare. The condition on the interior is complete but needs a restoration, the previous owner had all interior changed to leopard "theme" which was done in the seventies. And the shifter was changed to a skull. (I do have extra original shifters available that go with car) The body is not bad, Floor and frame is good, but the roof is bad due to having a vinyl before. The roof needs to be replaced, roof skins are avalable. The rear trunk lid is bad to. The rest is easy repareable and restorable. The car has front power DISC brakes, not drums. I kept the car for so long because I always wanted to restore it, but I am getting older and do not find time. I will have to part with it. This car was my baby, but it really has to go. It is easy to transport as the tires still keep air up. This car deserves a restoration and a new home after so many years.
