Vehicle Detail
You are looking are looking at a two-owner last of its breed 1987 r107 chassis 5.6 Liter 8-cylinder 560sl "hart-to-hart" roadster from Mercedes-Benz. This car has been my wife's since July of 1996. The 560sl car was purchased after examining over 20 difference versions that did not meet her high standards. We bought this car with barely 50k miles at the time. The car now has 137K miles and I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere in the country. This is not a museum piece but rather is a sound convertible that is in great shape for being 25 years old. "Muffy" is brown with a brown top and brown interior. The seats are not in the best shape but she has genuine gray sheepskin covers that truly "make the interior" of the car. This car has all of the original manuals and materials that came with the car as well as the original brown mercedes logo floor-mats and comes with the original keys plus a spare for a total of 3. The original Becker radio has been removed and replaced with a sony cassette radiOn Oct-29-12 at 19:13:53 PDT, seller added the following information: The ad got cut-off and I do not know why..here it is IN FULL You are looking are looking at a two-owner last of its breed 1987 r107 chassis 5.6 Liter 8-cylinder 560sl "hart-to-hart" roadster from Mercedes-Benz. The original Becker radio has been removed and replaced with a sony cassette radio that has not been wired up. (All original wiring is in-tact-- and the power antenna still works when hooked up) This car is equipped with a manual soft-top and A/C that needs to be recharged or converted to R134A. (It's a convertible so we never bothered to have it fixed.) The soft-top was replaced twice but is a little frayed. (She keeps out all weather though) The hard-top will be included but the rear glass is cracked. The front tires are ok as are the rears. The paint on this car would look better after a solid buffing. I have not used the cruise control in 15 years but it did work the last time it was used. What makes this 560sl worth the bidding is the work that was just completed on her in the amt of $7,611.11. My wife dropped the car off at the Mercedes-Benz specialist with "a blank check to service and repair to factory standards for the mileage." She obviously expected to keep the car forever. The reason that we have decided to sell this car is because she now has the r129 chassis which is the next body-style up in the roadster series. PLEASE READ THIS LIST CAREFULLY AS THE AMOUNT OF WORK COMPLETED IS WHAT WILL SELL THIS VEHICLE. The following work was completed on the 1987 560SL: Power steering pressure hose and fluid, spark plugs. spark plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, replaced fuel hoses, changed oil and oil filter, lubricated throttle linkage, lubricated door and hood hinges, replaced wiper inserts, new battery, flushed brake system, new brake pads and brake hoses, new tie rods, ball joints, steering shock, control arms, front and rear shock absorbers, stabilizer links, sub-frame mounts, differential mounts, axle boots, drive shaft, center support, replaced all coolant hoses, balaced and rotated all four tires, replaced instrument cluster bulbs, replaced lower shifter bushings, replaced timing chain, rails and tensioner, removed the transmissison-- resealed the front and rear pumps and all outer perimeter seals, drained torque converter, replaced the filer and changed the fluid, resealed the steering box, resealed the power steering pump, replaced all motor and transmission mounts, replaced all v-belts, replaced fuel pump, ( it was due according to the mileage but still worked fine)replaced distributor cap and rotor, replaced all valve cover gaskets, engine rear crank seal, replaced exhaust from the catalytic converter back and all exhaust hangers along with a new muffler, new sway bars, new fuel pump relay, new oxygen sensor The 1973-1989 r107 sl series is considered a classic amongst car lovers and the later 560sl are the pinnacle of this roadster series. This car has been loved for 16 years and is ready to give enjoyment to the next owner for another 16 more. Please look at all pictures and read the repair work done to realize that this car is ready-to-go! I have a 100% feedback score. The reserve on this vehicle is less thn the amt of repair work that was done. I am willing to take any pictures that are needed and shipping is at the expense of the buyer. Any questions-- please email me. thanks! The car has has all receipts for the work that has been done
