2003 Jaguar S-Type - 6 Cylinder - 101,085 Miles This car is being relisted because the winning bidder did not leave a deposit or even come to look at the car. Strong motor and tranny. This car is going to the highest bidder in "As Is" condition. No Reserve! No Buy It Now! Please Don't Ask! The "Check Engine" light is on. None of the power windows work. The sunroof does not work. My mechanic does not speck "Jaguar". He didn't even want to put it on the lift for fear it would jinx the other cars in the shop! What we could see is that it needs tires. I jacked up the right front tire and found that it has a flat spot. So, at higher speeds you get a steady "thump, thump, thump". The spare tire is flat. The car has an oil leak. It's not horrendous, but I can't tell where the leak is coming from because it's kind of wet underneath. The brakes feel fine but assume the pads need replacing since the tires are worn. They often go hand in hand. On the plus side, the AC is cold - the interior is excellent - and the body is real nice. Only a slight rumple on the driver side rear quarter panel. Barely noticeable. The other electronics seem to work - lights, wipers, signals etc. This car is a mechanic's delight! You can drive it home but I would recommend shipping it or replacing a couple of tires before driving it home. We drove it about 8 miles - no problem except for the right front tire being out of round. At 30 mph you don't notice the tire issue. Because this vehicle won't pass NY State inspection ... New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy. If the vehicle is left after 15 days your deposit becomes non-refundable and I will relist the vehicle. All vehicles that run and drive are driven at least 10 to 20 miles and usually 30 to 40 miles. I try to describe these vehicles to the best of my 35 years of experience. Our familiarity with these autos is limited to the miles we drive them. Please be aware of this when bidding. As always, if the winning bidder is not happy after road test and examination, I will cancel the sale and refund $250.00 of your deposit. 60% of my Ebay sales go to “phantom bidders” or “no-show” bidder.
