This auction is for a 1997 Honda Shadow 600 VLX. The bike is in excellent condition with low mileage. The paint is a two tone harder to find black and yellow paint scheme in really nice condition with no noticeable scratches, dents or rust. The chrome is very nice and shines brightly. The tires are white walls and still have more than 70% left. All the lights, horn, brakes and clutch work properly and chain is in good shape. The bike starts with no hesitation every time. If you know these bikes, they are cold blooded until warmed up. we have to ride 5 to 7 miles at half choke until it will run without the choke. I took the bike to our local Honda dealer a few years ago to try to fix the problem and they cleaned and rebuilt the carbs and didn't help. They told me these bikes are known to be lean when cold and the only way to fix it would be to richen the low end but they can't do it because they are required to keep the carbs to manufactures specs for warranty reasons so we've just used the choke and it run fine. This is a very easy bike to ride with a low seat height and four speed transmission which make it nice for beginners or women riders. My girlfriend is 5'4'' and the bike fits her perfectly. The only reason for selling the bike is because I hate seeing it just sit and not being ridden as much as I would like it to be. I'm very picky with every vehicle I own and it took me a long time to find this bike in the condition it was in and I still had work on it more to make me happy. My reserve is priced a little below blue book with half the average mileage for it's year. The bike has been used very little over the years. I purchased it back in 2006 with 7722 miles and currently it has 11448. It gets ridden every two or three weeks to keep the battery charged and engine lubed. When not in use it stays in my garage under a cover as did the previous owner. The bike is currently registered through March 2013. This would be great transportation with the current gas prices. It gets between 45-50 mpg. The original owners manual as well as a spare key comes with the bike as well as the leather saddle bags shown on the bike. I will help with loading the motorcycle. A $250 deposit is due 48 hours after the end of the auction and balance paid in cash or cashiers check and bike picked up within seven days of closing unless other arrangements are made.
