Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1958 Corvette. I purchased this car a few years ago from a person in the town I grew up in. He had bought it in the late 60's from somebody who bought it from the first owner. It's a non-original motor but runs very well. It's an 8 cylinder from the late 60's (I believe a 327 or 350). I had the bumpers all triple chromed by Virginia Vette's (the front left was not redone and needs to be replaced). The side trim was all nos and it has the original trunk bars. I have the convertible top but it's in need of restoration (rusted and has a break) which is included in the sale. The gauges all work except the tach. They were sent out and professionally redone. The interior is new and is an al knoch interior. It looks very nice. One thing in the interior is that the armwrests to not affix properly. I think I got the deluxe with armrests and the car originally didn't have them. I'm sure a hole can be drilled. Also, the windows have not been installed and I do not think that I have all of the parts to do so so you'll have to take care of that yourself. I put about 28k or so into it including a new wiring harness. Unfortunately the person who did the wiring harness did not do it right and there was a minor fire- put out in about 5 minutes. The carpet was replaced as were hoses, etc. under that dash. Wires were entirely redone. The fiberglass right in front was scorched as you can see in the pictures. You may have to do a little fiberglass work there. Also, the wonderbar radio (and possibly clock) do not appear to be working any longer. The wonderbar had been sent out and restored at a cost of about $850. Looks great but just not going right now. Also, the wipers don't work for some reason. Around the front headlight you will also have to do some fiberglass work. I think it's just weakened over the years. From what I've been told this is a no hit body. Also no panels have been replaced. Below the back left bumper it must have hit a curb or something because there is a crack there. All in all this is a great car that you can paint and then drive around in "as is". The paint is old and really needs to be redone. I will sell this on a bill of sale. It's the original frame. Also the body has the VIN plate but it is smooth and I can't make out the numbers any longer. The old owner had painted over this and the numbers were apparent when I bought it. However the people who restored it took the plate off and put it in a liquid to get the paint off. The metal numbers basically came off with the paint. I hate to part with this car but need the money. The car has come a long way since when I bought it but needs to be taken to the next phase with a new owner. Please email me with any questions. If you're around White Plains, NY we can work out an inspection/test drive. Thanks
