Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1966 AMC MARLIN Here is a real charmer, just received from the last owner of 15 years, a Southern California car since 1997; prior to that it resided in Fresno, California. This is an excellent example of a 1966 AMC Marlin in XLNT red over white paint. Prior to 1966 AMC cars were known as Ramblers. The chrome is XLNT, the stainless looks like it was just polished and the glass is XLNT. The body is straight as an arrow and the under carriage is free from rust. The interior is original red vinyl with no tears, cracks or rips and is quite supple. The driver side seat back insert was replaced with NOS material and an extra amount is included. The carpet at the bottom of the driver door is split lengthwise and although it is hardly noticeable, it should be mended. This car features fully reclining front seats....move the seats forward, lower the backs flat and you have a bed in your car! A 270 HP 327 V8 with a Holly 4bl carburetor powers this car with automatic transmission with the shifter in the floor console. It has power steering and power brakes and FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING and a new battery. A stock AM/FM radio is in the dash and bucket seats hold you tight. Original, stock wire wheel covers with the Marlin logo adorn the wheels with tires looking like new. The car runs great, rides smooth and handles like a 1960’s era car. I just drove it today at 75 mph in 100 degree heat for over a hundred miles on the freeway with the temp gauge never moving from the middle. All the gauges, lights and switches work and the clock keeps accurate time. The car leaks no oil unless allowed to sit without starting for weeks at a time, then you may find a few drops. Here is your chance to own one of 4400 made in 1966 with very few surviving in decent shape. When is the last time you saw one, much less saw one for sale? A unique, eye popping design will keep all eyes upon you as you drive this sweet ride. Please don't ask what the reserve is...but i will tell you it is between average and high retail as listed below according to NADA. The car is garaged in Palm Springs, California and it is available for inspection or drive test at your convenience. Please call 702 400-3749 to see the car or drive it.Here are a couple Marlin links for any researching you may want to do;http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1966/American-Motors/Marlin/2-Door-Fastback-Coupe/Values http://reviewscar.com/specifications/index.cfm?specs=862http://www.marlinautoclub.com/http://www.oldride.com/library/1966_amc_rambler.html 1966 American Motors Marlin 2 Door Fastback Coupe Pricing Original MSRP Low Retail Average Retail High Retail $2,707 $3,925 $8,050 $11,200 Options: (add options) ADD-327/270 HP V8 ENG 10% 10% 10% ADD-FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING 5% 5% 5% TOTAL PRICE $2,707 $4,513 $9,257 $12,880 A $500 non-refundable deposit made via PayPal will be required within 48 hours of the close of auction and the remainder must be received in cash or via bank wire within seven business days after close of auction. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. There is no warranty attached to this car, however, every effort has been made to provide you with an accurate description of it and its condition. On Oct-18-12 at 14:42:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received several phone calls about a Buy It Now price. Although I don't have the car listed that way, I would entertain offers through Ebay. The car will be advertised locally in a few days, after Ebay has had a chance to display it. Feel free to call my cell phone I have listed to discuss any aspect of the car. Also, please note that the entire exhaust system was recently replaced and that is something you will not have to deal with. For the record, I am looking for a low mileage 79-85 Cadillac Eldorado, Buick Riviera, Oldsmobile Toronado or a 68-71 Lincoln MkIII. If you have anything like that for trade, we should talk. On Oct-22-12 at 14:08:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I HAVE LOWERED THE RESERVE AND ADDED A BUY IT NOW PRICE....
