I have a silver 2000 Mazda Protégé ES for sale, with 192,163 miles and a clear FL title in hand. This car has been a very reliable machine for me for about 8 years. The interior is clean. There is pretty extensive stereo equipment and wiring; sub woofer, amp, nakamichi CD player, etc. The stereo would need a little work to get running again. There is obvious damage from a rear ending incident that happened almost 2 years ago. The damage was relatively minimal and did not total the car. Rather than fix the damage, I have just been driving it this way since the incident. So first, the good stuff: 1. The timing belt was changed a little less than a year ago. The car runs excellent with no engine or transmission issues. 2. The A/C compressor was changed 2 or 3 years ago, and the A/C is ice cold with no issues. 3. All tires are good, with the exception of the right rear tire. It’s worn due to misalignment. 4. All electric windows function from driver’s seat. Some switches on the passenger seats don’t work. 5. The moon roof works perfectly. Now for the negatives: 1. The stereo system was installed professionally when I bought it. It was amazing until I got rear ended, then it worked, but only partially. Now it is pretty much dismantled so I could get to the trunk latch, as the trunk doesn’t function properly due to the rear ending. 2. It needs an alignment; hence the reason the right rear tire is worn disproportionately. 3. The electric mirrors don’t work well. The driver’s side mirror needs to be glued into place. It was hit while parked on the side of a street. 4. I think it will need breaks or bearings soon. The ride just seems a little noisier than normal, but I’m not sure. For anyone looking for a reliable point A to B driver, this would make a good car. Especially to anyone with a little mechanical know how. I’ve tried to list everything I’ve observed, but bear in mind this is a pretty well used vehicle. If you are able to view in person, and take for a test drive I would highly recommend that. Now the unpleasant stuff that needs to be said: Cash in person only. I need a 10% deposit within 24 hours of auction close, and the remainder in full no later than 5 days after the auction closes.
