I am selling an extremely nice, clean 1983 Chevrolet Caprice CL sedan. This car is essentially a three-owner vehicle that has logged only 54,673 original miles. I bought it on ebay after hearing that my friend, and fellow car club member, the owner was selling it on ebay in Sept 2010. This vehicle belonged to his Mother. I will try to present as much information as I know about this vehicle. This Caprice was purchased new in 1983. The vehicle is original, except for the paint. This car has had one repaint in it’s original dark, cranberry/burgundy-maroon, two-tone color a number of years ago. The paint was described to me as "driver quality" but looks factory in my opinion. The paint is in very good condition and has a lot of shine and shows well. The paint in the door jambs and under the trunk lid is original. I can email many more pictures upon request. The car has not been involved in any accidents. There is no rust on the car. The vinyl top is in excellent condition, with no tears, rips or cracks. All trim pieces are present and in very good condition. The bumpers are in very good condition. The glass is in excellent condition. The trunk looks brand new and unused. Still has the original and unused "donut" spare tire and jack. The car was under-coated when purchased and is in excellent condition. The engine compartment is very clean. The weather stripping is in excellent condition. The original interior of the car is in outstanding condition. No rips or tears in the upholstery. Beautiful door panels. No cracks in the dash pad. Clear instrument panel. The head liner is in excellent condition, with no sagging whatsoever. The original floor mats come with the car and are in good condition. All of the equipment on the car works except the gas gauge, which would require a new sending unit in the gas tank. An inexpensive fix I have neglected to make, having only driven the car back and forth to car shows in the past few years. The car is heavily equipped: Power: Steering, disc brakes, windows, seats, locks, trunk, antenna. 305 V8, automatic transmission, Cruise, A/C (converted to r134 with new compressor and blows cold), AM/FM Stereo Radio with Cassette Player, electric rear window defog, map lights, tilt wheel, intermittent wipers, lighted visor vanity mirror, reclining passenger seat, locking wire wheel covers. I believe it also has the heavier duty sport suspension. Mechanically, the car runs strong with no known issues and has been regularly maintained. The car is wonderful to drive and amazingly quiet. A new muffler was installed about 4 years ago. Although the car was regularly and properly maintained, maintenance receipts were not kept. The car also comes with the original owners’s manual, other factory literature and build sheet (sorry, no window sticker was kept). This is a very nice, excellent overall condition automobile. There are **NO** decrepencies on this car. When the original owner passed away, the car was retitled in his wife's and his son's name. The data for odometer was miscommunicated somehow and the clear title I have is corrected with the actual mileage on the car, 54,041. It is unfortunate that the Auto check has come back with "major" title issues?. I have carefully studied the full report an have concluded that back in April of 1983 there was either a mistake made on the original title paperwork, or a miscommunication therein. This car could not have possibly had a legitimate mileage discrepency issue brand new. I assure any prospective buyer that the mileage is correct at 54,634. It had 54,041 when I purchased it Sept 2010. The odometer is turning freely and accurately.
