Vehicle Detail
1976 Honda Goldwing GL1000. I bought this a year or two ago, somewhat neglected bike, it was going to be a kid's project to restore, but he gave up. I finished it up, rode it around a bit, and now its on to a new project. I will say this is a great, powerful motorcycle - it is definitely at home and at its best on the highway. Here's what I did to the bike, working front to back; all the work was done within the past 12 months: New tubes and tires, New fork seals, New tapered steering head bearings, New Cam belts, new choke cable, rebuilt and synced carbs with the Randakk kit, new fuel filter, New clutch cable, rebuilt rear master cylinder and rear caliper. All fluids have been changed, along with the spark plugs. General tune up. The bike is a survivor; it has the original owner's manual and the kick start lever on the side. Everything works on the bike, except I think that the Neutral bulb is out on the dash. Even the turn signal tone works. The bike is not perfect, visually, and it has its nicks here and there. The fenders and seat are good, no rips or tears. I forgot to mention that I did replace the tach with another one from e-bay; I believe it is from a 77 or a different year, as the color of the face is different. When I saw the pic, I didn't think that the color was different when I bid on it. The Odometer is original, and I do have the original tach as well. Just easier to buy another than fix the original, which cosemitically is fine. It just wasn't working. If I was going to keep the bike, I would probably clean the idle jets again. The last time I rode it a few weeks ago, I was having some idle issues. I will also say that while the exhaust is the original, I believe that the baffles have gone bye-bye, so it is a little loud. This is the kind of bike that you could pretty easily restore to 100%, ride it as is, or wouldn't feel bad customizing it. This is a cash sale, and you wil have to come and get the bike. Sales only to the US.
