This vehicle came out of a Santa Rosa Estate, the original owner passed away several years ago and his wife who is in her late 80's has gone into a rest home. This was a large estate in the California wine country with a large home and several acres with a climate controlled barn down the road with two large roll up doors and inside covered up sat this wonderfully well preserved Datsun pickup that you see here.It was sold new at Pacific Datsun in San Diego California with 10 miles on March 3 1978 to Mr Olsen of Santa Rosa and has been kept the last 34 years in like new condition. Every service was performed at the local Datsun/Nissan dealer and comes will all the documentation from day one.Original paint is in outstanding condition. Vintage automobiles are only original once and with many vintage automobiles the value increases as the supply decreases. Many vehicles have been restored to showroom new condition which is very expensive, it is next to impossible to find a showroom new example of anything that is original and un restored. Especially one that was inexpensive new and sold in high volume like a Datsun pickup. People did not buy a base model Japanese pickups with the idea of it's future collectability they bought them and used them up. They were disposable and most are long gone. That is why this vehicle is so special. The overall condition is a testament to good maintenance and you would be hard pressed to find any vehicle this age that has been kept as nice as the one you see here. This is a must for the Vintage Datsun collector. To me this is like a Datsun 510 pickup if you could get a L20B motor in a Datsun 510. What would a original Datsun 510 with original white paint be worth with just 50k miles?This is possibly the nicest Datsun 620 pickup anywhere in the world and don't see how you could have a nicer one . You could not restore one to this condition for what the reserve is and this one is not restored but original. They are only original once Cosmetically: this Datsun is in excellent condition. It's not that it's clean it's that it has never been dirty. The beautiful white #637 shines wonderfully and has never been in an accident. The bed is in flawless shape All the chrome pieces are in great shape and have no pitting are discoloring, just a spotless shine. The bench seat is near perfect except a small wear mark on the drivers side near the back wear the seat belt made a small tear otherwise it is in near perfect condition. The door panels are in nice shape as is the original vinal floor. The dash is like new as is the headliner and visors are in real nice shape. It is clear this car has spend more time inside than outside. Mechanically this Datsun is in great shape. Throughout it's 34 year lifetime it has been regularly maintained and it shows today. It was in storage for many years but has always been in the same family. The L20B runs like a low miles engine should. The suspensions is tight and responsive, the clutch and brakes were great. This car has been always dealer maintained and comes with all the books and records from day one. The engine, transmission, rear end as with all the mechanical components of this truck are as close to new as you will find.This is a collector grade vehicle that looks and drives as it just drove off the showroom.
